This beach is widely famous in its area, due to its sand dunes. However, the sand is dark, and there are pebbles covering the whole shore. Just go there if you really have time and nothing else to do. In summer, you can schedule a visit to the sea turtle preservation institute nearby, and watch the eggs hatching and the... More

I've been to many beaches and this is your average sandy beach. It is a surfer's beach so it's windy and has lots of small, disorganized waves. Swimming is prohibited so don't visit thinking you will swim there. It's easy to get there. Get to the Hamamatsu train station and take the #4 bus. The fare was ¥280 per person... More

Not much to see here. Probably a nice place to go for walk but it was very windy when we visited. We saw some nice sand castle art

It was a cold day though the sun was shinning - it was very windy as a result lot of sand was blowing - it was like being sand blasted - definitely not pleasant

If you want to feel like walking in the desert, this beach it's for you! Very impressive and peaceful, we went during a warm and quite afternoon: there are high dunes that create a wonderful landscape. The beach is huge and you have to walk to arrive near to the sea, but it's very worth it. A different a beautiful... More

It's a beautiful half sandy half pebbly beach 10-15 minutes from the city center by bus. To reach the beach you have to get through the amazing and not too big sand dunes. It's nice to feel the warm sand under your feet when the weather is just getting warm. Try to visit it on a sunny day, it's perfect!... More

The fist time I was on the ocean shore. I had some free time during conference so I decided to visit this place. Beach close to town. In November, it's empty, so you can sit anywhere on the pebbles. Waves are higher than in inland seas.

Just a 15-minute bus ride away from Shin-Hamamatsu is an almost Caribbean paradise of a beach. I've been on the beach 3 or 4 times, and always found it near-deserted. Near-perfect white sands which run for Kilometres await you at Nakatajima. Take some food and water, though, as there's very little as far as infrastructure there.
