We are the only kayak tour company that is currently able to lead trips to Burrows Island. You will be exploring unique shorelines that few visitors to the islands are able to experience.

Save time, and save money!
The experience does not require the hassles of taking a ferry to San Juan Island. Anacortes, located on Fidalgo Island has two bridges connecting us to the mainland.

Because you are able to drive directly to us your time on the water is maximized. Many tour companies on other islands include a lengthy shuttle ride as a part of their trip thereby reducing the actual time spent kayaking and encountering wildlife.

Single kayaks are available for participants for an additional $25pp. Must be 18 years or older. (Must be requested in advance and is subject to availability.)

Professionally trained guides will see to the details and ensure your comfort.

If you are a local resident, you can use these facilities, which includes a large pool complex and a separate well-equipped fitness room. IF you are a senior from out-of-town and have Silver Sneakers membership, you can come here also. MOstly, we come to watch the grandkids do their swim lessons. It is great fun to watch over a year or two as they progress from standing on a little platform just under the water to being excellent swimmers. What a great service this is to the community. The view is also quite excellent. Next door is the senior center, which has many activities for seniors, including a $5 daily lunch. Also, next door is a Methodist church with an outdoor labyrinth that is open to the public. Across the street are ball fields where out grandson plays. We love Anacortes. This center is one of the reasons why.

Was visiting family and went to the pool several times during my visit. I found it extremely clean. The pool has weights that you can use in the pool and I found the workout to be great. The locker rooms were extremely clean. Only thing needed was soap dispensers in shower area. Patrons were extremely friendly and knew right away I was visiting they showed me all around. I would highly recommend a visit

Girl behind counter with ear phones in ears gets annoyed if she has to take them out to do her job like talk to you or help with problem solving when special need swimmers are involved..After SHE rolled her eyes IN A very dramatic fashion and ripped her head phones out after a parent needed to be buzzed in to pick up there child..She left the counter into another room..When it was my turn to use the family changing room she was no where to be found. So my mentally handicap son was wandering around the mens locker room by him self..There are TWO dressing room behind the counter, but Icould tell it was too much of a bother to her to let us use the second one for 2 minutes..As mom I could not go into the mens locker room...My son has special Olympic swimming there for years...PLACE HAS REALLY went down hill.!!

Response from V3520GCsarahm, Public Relations Manager at Fidalgo Pool & Fitness Center

We are sorry that you had a negative experience with our family changing room. At FPFC we strive always to meet the needs of all patrons. In our defense, we have always been supportive of those with physical challenges. As the parent of a Special Olympian, you are aware that the time period you describe in your post coincided with a practice for the Fidalgo Flippers, the Special Olympics swim team which we have sponsored for many years. Unfortunately, when that practice ended there were several folks who needed our changing room at the same time. An alternative for care givers—regardless of gender—is to use the locker rooms to assist those who need the help, greatly expanding the resource. This is a commonly adhered-to practice state-wide, which we will be reinforcing with new signage. This incident speaks to our present need for a modernized facility. It’s no secret that our current building is outmoded—non-ADA compliant, with no fire sprinklers and a lack of amenities…. including family changing room space. Hopefully anyone reading your post and this response can get behind our efforts to address this. Again, we are sorry for your negative experience. We care about our patrons—we will continue to strive to serve the needs of everyone connected with FPFC.

Fidalgo Pool & Fitness Center is a public pool and fitness facility in the heart of Anacortes. It has classes ranging from swimming lessons, aquaerobics, aqua core, hydro-pilates, aqua zumba, water intervals, hydrobikes and more. The fitness center also offers a weight training area that is brand New as of October 2014. They offer 30 day passes, 10 entry punch cards as well as just single admission combinations. We live here locally and use the facility for both leisure and for swimming classes for our 3 children. The pool is in the main older portion of the facility and although it is kept clean and maintained quite well, it clearly shows the natural signs of age and wear. Although maintenance seems to be a scheduled plan, you can occasionally see dirt and grime accumulation around and under the slide and the locker rooms are not always the cleanest. Overall, the facility is nice and very well used in the community. In contrast to my negative feedback above, they did do $285,000 in pool repairs and upgrades in 2011 where they drained and resurfaced the pool and replaced the boiler system with system that keeps the pool clean using a state-of-the-art ultraviolet water treatment system. Here is a link for the costs of admission: http://fidalgopool.com/prices.html
