We pride ourselves as being one of the most experienced and dedicated whale-watching companies in Washington. Because of our very high success rate, Island Adventures was one of the first and only companies to guarantee whale sightings on every tour - but it's our team of highly qualified crew that will make your trip unforgettable! They boast over 100 years of combined experience in the islands, over 4100 days with the whales, and have led excursions for over 80,000 satisfied customers.

I went on a whale watch July 15 2016. Nice boat. You can bring your own snacks or purchase food on the boat. There was enough space for everyone to view whales. We saw Orcas playing in the water and two groups of humpback whales, one surfacing quite close to the boat. It was very exciting and I was satisfied... More

Two hours cruise almost to the Olympic Peninsula but well worth it. More whale sightings, breaches and spouting than the crew had ever seen. Probably true for the rest of us. Then on the long way back a side trip to pick up a pod of Orcas. Followed by an incredible orange sunset, rainbow and distant lightning storm. Hard to... More

You never know about these trips. Are the reviews trustworthy? Will we see whales? Will we return satisfied or feel somehow cheated? The answer is, and the reviews do tell the story accurately. Island Adventures in Anacortes WA provided us with an absolutely first class experience. We took the afternoon (4pm) trip aboard Island Explorer 3. Our crew was led... More

Fantastic trip. 5 hours out and back. 125 aboard. Lots of room for all. Food and drink available for $. The Captain got us to a pod of 10+/- Humpbacks for an hour show. Fun, fun, fun. Worth every penny. Screen shot from phone camera video below.

We decided to take our kids to do some whale watching and it was totally awesome. The service was totally awesome as well. We were lucky and saw a variety of different whales. This is a must tour for kids. They will be fascinated on this tour. The weather was very cool so take your sweaters or jackets. They sell... More

We saw two pods of Orcas and several Humpbacks as well as seals and sea birds. While most of the other whale watch companies with small boats stayed close to the shore and watched the Orcas, our larger boat headed out further into the Strait of Juan de Fuca to find the humpbacks. We were on the afternoon cruise and... More

Thanks for the great review! Sounds like you had a wonderful adventure! As you mentioned, one of the benefits of our vessel, the Island Explorer 3, is that we have a much greater range than many smaller vessels, allowing us to go the distance to find some pretty spectacular things, and also giving us a better than 97% success rate...
