HIGH ON THE HILL

GREAT VIEWS OF THE ISLANDS. But be prepared for quite a hill climb and switch backs. There were a couple of spots to park.

The drive to the top of Mt Erie is easy and quick. Great scenic stops along the way and lots of hiking trails. Definitely worth the time to visit.

Be very careful when exploring this mountain-top park. We were told that many lives lost up here as people hiked and enjoying the incredible views. A couple of memorials of kids who were killed here, very sad! The drive up was narrow and windy but you will be rewarded by the views.

Nice view out over the bay and of the refineries. Not great for pictures as the view is obstructed by trees.

We love to visit this place. One road in and out. Steep climb by car...never walked it. Several pull-outs along the way with overlooks. Park is kept clean and has a port-a-potti at the summit. Bring a camera and binoculars. A must do in the area.

A short drive through Anacortes gets you to some of the best views of the San Juans and Fidalgo island. The views are spectacular and worth the drive. There are a ton of hiking trails. What a little gem. There is a portable toilet near the very top.

Though not famous for tourists, Mt. Erie is a local favorite and the view is amazing. If you go to Anacortes area, I highly suggest you to visit this hidden gem. Mt. Erie itself is hard to miss. It's the mountain with two tall antenna towers, and could be seen from road 20. The entrance, however, is from a local... More

Great views of the surrounding area. There are several observation points which gives you great views of different areas, including Whidbey Island, Puget Sound, and Mt Baker.
