This is my daughter's favorite park in Ashburn by far. It has several playgrounds, each one focusing on a different age group. The area is moderately wooded so it is nice for shade, but you should probably check for ticks after a visit.

Ashburn Park (also referred to as the "Dinosaur Park") is situated between an elementary school and a quiet neighborhood. It is a beautiful, serene park that is often punctuated with the laughter of children as they enjoy the swings and climbing structures. You'll see parents in business attire after work spending time with their kids, along with stay at home Moms and nannies. This is usually not one of the more crowded parks, possibly in part because many people don't know about it. The park recently had a small but permanent restroom facility added, but I haven't checked it out yet to see if it's open all the time or just during certain occasions (i.e. when someone has rented the park for a birthday, etc.). There are a few picnic tables and a nice sized covered deck area that I believe can be rented. Due to the extensive tree cover, the park is usually about ten degrees cooler than everywhere else. It is generally well maintained and clean. A path goes through the side of the park and connects with a walking trail, so you'll see people jogging, walking their dogs or taking a stroll. I've always felt safe in this park, which closes at dark and with good reason, as there is no light and the park isn't intended for evening visits. I've noticed an occasional police presence there, probably to ward off teens or those seeking to use the park as a nighttime hangout. When my kids were young we came here a lot and always enjoyed it. I still like to go there when I'm walking just because it's so lovely. If you're looking for a less crowded park to take the kids to, give this one a try.

Our 4-year-old twin grandsons love this park. Keeps them busy and Grandpa loves the quiet. A very good variety of activities.

This park is great in that is has several different play areas that each boast different playthings geared toward various age groups. There is plenty of shade and plenty of sun. I do with there was more than one pavilion but really, that is minor. There are bathrooms (real ones, not porta potties) and a parking lot. Easy place to go to entertain kids of multiple ages.

Full Disclosure: I have a very special place in my heart for Dinosaur Park because I helped build it, At that time, in Ashburn, on the edge of Old Town, between Ashburn Village & Ashburn Farm there was nothing for the many kids in the area besides the two teeny play lots (tot lots) for kids. Our older kids needed something to run, jump and enjoy and we needed something to let the kids see Ashburn was a lot more than just two growing developments with an old village in the middle. So a joint community effort was started: Ashburn Farm had proferred the land and the county allowed us to use it. Ashburn Village (and others) raised the money & labor for the plantings and a big meeting was called at the (where else?) Ashburn Fire House for kids to choose what kind of play equipment they'd like best. That was the most fun part, short of the day the park opened. It's still going strong! A great example of using what you have: Proffers, People-Energy, and the commitment that brings something new and lasting to a community that needed to grow closer and blend. I hope it always will be. That's for the families using the park now to protect, cherish and maintain for the next decade of kids already here. I have great faith in Ashburnites that it will never be a problem.

Great places not only for kids but to take your dogs for a walk. It also has nice creeks for the dogs to play in. I’m disabled and the walking trails are pretty easy to walk.

We took our grandsons Ashburn park for basically walking. Although they are teenagers they could appreciate that their grandfather needed that kind of walk. The past are tidy and clean and easily navigated. There a lot of fun things for younger children to do but since our whole family are naturalist you're able to create our own tour. :)

This park is wonderful! It has a playground section for each age group and has so much to offer your child. There's also swings and a gazebo, plus picnic tables and benches. Walking paths behind the pro lead to houses with beautiful streams and bridges. The only down fall is all the sticks and branches from the old trees surrounding the property. They definitely need landscaping. Along with the property being on a slant. There are bathrooms but their sketchy. I would recommend holding off on that unless you have too. We absolutely love this playground however.
