We took the tram because we had a few seniors in our group, but I wish I had allocated more time to walk instead of riding. The tram gives you a couple of notes between its three stops. You can get a lot more than that by using the free brochure from the visitor's center and walking your own path. In addition to the sites pointed out in the brochure you will recognize many others of note that would fill volumes more than the brochure. And the changing of the guard and Kennedy sites, which two of the three stops for the tram, are free (as are all burial sites) anyway so you can see those at your pleasure in your walk.

Arlington parking garage was free parking. Tram around cemetery makes three stops at Kennedy plot, Tomb of unknown soldier and Arlington House. Interesting tour and beautiful cemetery. Buying through trip advisor was convenient but same tram tickets sold at entrance.

The people were very nice and did a great job of explaining the history. The cemetery is so large and vast, this was a great way to experience it. The changing of the guards was incredible, it’s a must see! Definitely need at least 4 hours to do the tour, we only had 3 hours so we didn’t see JFK’s site.

My family liked the fact that we could get on and off as we wanted. We could always catch the next trolley. A tour guide was on each trolley to explain what sections of the Cemetery we were looking at and telling us which way to walk to see the Changing of the Guard, or visit Kennedy's Grave, or Ruth Bader Ginsburg's grave - among others. There is no way we could have walked to everything on the very hot, humid day we visited. We were able to purchase trolley tickets when we arrived at Arlington. We also were able to purchase tickets to go inside Arlington House and also see the enslaved people's quarters. This was also worth being a trolley stop as well. All of the tour guides provide a wealth of historic information that we would have overlooked had we tried to do it on our own.
