Put on your Sherlock cap and come test your wits at one of Old Town Alexandria's most unique attractions—Escape Room Live. Step into one of our four, cleverly appointed rooms for a unique 'live-mystery-solving' experience themed as Sherlock, Moriarty, Edgar Allan Poe and the Wizard's Apothecary. You and your family, friends and colleagues will work together to uncover hidden clues, solve puzzles and connect the dots to solve the mystery and escape before time is up!

We completed the Sherlock Holmes room and had a great time. We managed to finish with 10 seconds left, after receiving help on two elements that we were struggling with. It was a good challenge, but not extremely difficult. The 8.5/10 difficulty rating seems just right. We did the event with four adults and two teens, and everyone contributed to make it a great event. We were nearby for dinner and booked this on a complimentary event. This is well worth the money! Great job to the Escape Room Live team, especially the staff member running the Sherlock room. Lastly, they offer a 10% military discount!

The experience included wizards and other elements my daughter thought scary. She left the room about 5 minutes after entering and read a book instead. We went for a birthday party, so I'm unsure if other (less scary) options are available.

Hello! All of our rooms are family-friendly and are not intended to be "scary" in any nature. Could you please e-mail us at info@escaperoomlive.com with a little more detail about what your daughter experienced and which props she felt were scary so we can have them removed? Thank you!

We tried the Wizard Room with our kids. Interesting puzzles that were challenging but solvable. Nice props and setting. Would definitely try the other rooms. A nice thing to do with the family at night during Covid time.
It would be even better if the staff could tell us how many minutes we have left more often or there should be a countdown clock in the room. We realized that we had no idea how many minutes were left when we “escaped”.

Our girls had their birthday party here and enjoyed it very much. Check-in process was easy. There were lots of games for the girls to play (sorry, giant connect four, battleship, trivia games, etc) while they waited until the room was ready and which my husband and I played while they were playing. Prices were similar to other escape rooms in the area. I've never done an escape room before, but seeing this place makes me want to try one sometime.

We as a family had a wonderful visit. This was my second time doing an escape room with my grandsons and this group. My son and daughter in law love escape rooms, and my other son that came with us it was his first escape room. Everyone loved it. There were clues that tasked everyone and allowed everyone to participate. There were clues that the adults over thought but my grandsons picked up on. Without everyone contributing we would not have completed before the time limit. It was an unexpected Christmas present. For all of use we will go to another escape room in the future.

My boyfriend and best friend planned the whole thing as a couples date night for Valentines Day and we had a great time in solving the clues. The staff was super friendly, detail oriented, clean, had hand sanitizer on deck and a coat rack. THEY HAD A COAT RACK :) ! I loved the aesthetics and the wait time was not bad. Very patient and genuine staff from their personalities.

Awesome experience in the Poe-Ranormal room. Some of the clues were very challenging but so much fun. Brett was amazing and did a great job setting up the room. Great story telling to start off the room. We loved this room and will 100% be back to do another room!

We did the Raven. It was so exhilarating we opted to try the Wizards Room. Equally enjoyable. We didn’t make it out of either room in the time allotted, but close. Challenging, but not annoying. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.

We had family visiting from out of town and decided to check this out and so happy we did. There were 6 of us 4 adults, a 19 year old and a 9 year old and it did not disappoint anyone! Everyone had a great time! We picked the Poe-Ronormal room and although we didn't escape on our own we had the best time. We will definitely go again and try another room!!!! Booking was easy, the staff was great! Everyone should try this.

Just got back from our Sherlock Holmes adventure. This was our first escape room and I enjoyed the experience. The staff were helpful and encouraging. I highly recommend these guys. The rooms were well featured and the clues were in line with the story. We spent about an hour total in our adventure. Great fun.

Hi' I'm trying to plan an 11 yr olds birthday celebration. Is this a good location for kids? If so, which room would be the best? None of them have tried this yet?

Thanks for the pricing information. How much is the processing fee? This information is not on the website. It just says tax and processing fee will be added to your order, but never specifies the percentage or amounts. Pretty frustrating.
