This is a jewel. Not many know of it, because it is behind developments. The garden is special - the more you look, the more you see. It is even nice in the winter. It has a nice stream that runs through it and which provides a very nice water garden. It has traditional upland flower gardens. It has a historical farmhouse with rotation art exhibits. And it has a visitor center.

I love this place! Green, clean, well kept… staff is friendly. The plants are named which excellent for a person like me who knows nothing about plant’s names.
The herb and vegetable garden is magnificent and so the childre’s garden.

A local gem. Shady spots, garden center, ponds, well manicured lawns, shady walking paths, and so much more to explore in this place. Set in the heart of Annandale, it is a great place to enjoy nature. Definitely worth visiting in different seasons throughout the year.

This venue is part of the Fairfax County's park system. It is beautiful and well maintained, There are a number of educational programs, a small greenhouse, a garden shop, a tearoom in a historic house and much more!

Great place in every season! I visit every week being close to my work--Just to see the new plants and flowers, take pictures and just relax. Always are weddings, and photo sessions going on...it is just that beautiful!

Green Spring Gardens is like the perfect backyard garden you wish you had. It's beautifully maintained and at its best in the spring/summer (although winter walks here are fun as well). They have a visitors center with books about birds and gardening and I think some activities for children as well.
It's an ideal place to come for an hour or so, walk and wander around, throw a frisbee, let kids run around and explore.

We visited on a crisp, sunny day in early November. I was impressed by the sweep of the gardens and the surprising number of plants in bloom, sheltered by magnificent Fall foliage. It was a Sunday, and there happened to be some art shows going on. There's a pretty children's garden that was being enjoyed by young families. Next time we will bring the grandchildren!

I visited Green Spring Gardens in a group, guided by a volunteer docent. She pointed out many interesting aspects of the plantings and of the historic house at the center of the property. The Gardens showcase many unusual plants, some of them spectacularly beautiful even in late October. Well worth a visit.

No entrance fee for the garden. I did not visit the house, but there is good info about it on the Fairfax County parks website. I don't believe that there is an entrance fee for the house.

Do you still have plant sales on Saturday mornings?
