I love the Torpedo Factory. As a resident of Alexandria I really enjoy brining family and friends who have never been. It is also very relaxing to come alone and wander through all of the various shops. The artists are so friendly and willing to answer questions, the environment is so industrial and interesting. It is worth a visit -... More

My husband and I wondered through on a chilly afternoon. Very interesting art of all forms. Very nice to see the artists actually in their studios. We were very impressed by the use of the old torpedo factory. It is a piece of history.

We walked through the old torpedo factory, enjoying the history of the building and the art. The gentleman playing music with the glasses of water was incredible. My children were enchanted. A must see attraction right on the water where you can see DC in the direction and National Harbor in the other.

An interesting place to see local artists showcase their work. I enjoyed the story of how they repurposed this building in the heart of touristville.

We enjoyed wandering the halls of this extensive facility. We loved watching the various artists at work and found almost all of them were happy to explain what they were doing, answer questions, and talk about their work.

Located down by the water at the end of King Street in Alexandria’s Old Town, this is a great place to spend an hour or so exploring. Set over three floors, the center displays art work from numerous local artists, from ceramics, to glass, paintings, sculptures, metalwork and photography etc. Not all galleries were open when we visited shortly before... We spent some time on New Year's Eve looking around the Torpedo Factory. The building is 3 stories of artists of every persuasion you can imagine, from fine arts to recycled bottle caps to pottery. I wish I had more time to truly appreciate all the beautiful works on display. It's a fantastic use of an old building in a... More

Everything was wonderful to look at and appreciate-but way too much money for this Detroit girl! A fun thing to do while waiting for lunch or dinner
