My hubby and I love going to dinner shows. So I had big expectations when I came here especially with all the raving reviews. But this one was a sort of a let down. The setting is in a dark long hallway type room that is dressed with medieval decor. Every staff member spoke in Old English and dressed their... More

I've been to Medieval Madness several times over the past 2 years or so and it just keeps getting better. This is a locally owned and operated dinner theater, with original shows set in the Middle Ages that incorporate current events. They change their shows about every 3-4 months so it's always fresh. Because it's small and it encourages audience... More

A friend enticed me to go - we had vouchers from Living Social or Google or one of those - and I was initially skeptical. As a history buff, I went in with mild interest and low expectations. But I had a great time! The staff really commits to their roles and clearly enjoy what they do. The food was... More

While the whole idea is fun - the execution could use some work. The premise of joining a Duke and Duchess in their castle for dinner is pretty cool. The venue is well done, but the execution is a bit lacking. The show is entertaining - but no the laugh out loud comedy and humor I was expecting. The eat... More

This was my second time attending and I had just as good a time as the first experience. Both times we purchased through living social. I am a fan of the beer, although it is very pricey but I haven't been to Germany in a number of years and it allows me to reminisce. The atmosphere is more intimate than... More

The atmosphere and show were cute once, but didn't have as much appeal a second time. The entertainment is decent. The cast mostly stayed true to character, without being "over the top" about it. There is a bit of a vibe that they do it their way, and if you don't like it then you are welcomed to leave. This... More

The food was fair, but nothing special (I assume that this was “authentic” for medieval England, though, as I doubt that cooks in the middle ages were all that great). What you really pay for is the show, of course, and the chance to yell, “Wench, bring me some more ale!” The beer selection was good, and I thoroughly enjoyed... More

We purchased half-price vouchers from Living Social to attend Medieval Madness. I had read a good review of it in the Washington Post and those here on Trip Advisor, so I thought that it would be worth the $29 I paid for each voucher (as opposed to the regular $58 price). The MM hall is located in Old Town Alexandria,... More

Great fun. Food is excellent. The staff is great at both serving patrons and entertaining. One of the best selections of beer in the area. A great night out for a special occasion or just a fun time.

Our daughter decided to have her 12th birthday celebration, so she could invite both boys and girls. The kids had a great time and enjoyed eating with their fingers. The roasted meats (sausage, beef, chicken) were all very flavorful and juicy and the sides (yams, carrots) were good too. There were all kinds of sauces and fresh bread as well.... More
