I assumed this would be a really guided tour from Alexandria to Georgetown, but the boat was so lid you could not understand anything boing told so it was up to you to recognize where you where. Nice for making picture, but not something I need to repeat.

I very rarely leave negative reviews, but felt compelled to do so in this case. My 80 year old mother and I decided to take the Baseball Boat to Nationals Park from Alexandria. Booked online and there was no where to click for free parking as stated on the Potomac Riverboat website. After much driving around on a 98 degree... More

I took the "Monuments Cruise" round trip from Alexandria to Georgetown. I left Alexandria at 7:30, so I got a good view of the monuments just before twilight, and a great view of them lit up on the way back. The crew was friendly and the boat offered a recording that explained many of the sights along the way. The... More

We took this from Georgetown to Alexandria and back. Well run organization and very good people... the captain of the boat even slowed down a few times so people clicking away with camera's (like me) could get the best shots. Great value and highly recommended.

A fun way to get a glimpse of both Washington D.C. and Virginia at the same time on the Potomac River. It's a 45 minute ride which is nice and relaxing. Listen to a pre-recorded presentation on board which is informative but can be drowned out by helicopter and airplanes which pass overhead. Covered overhead seating around tables is comfortable... What a wonderful way to see another perspective of DC! The boat was comfortable and offered the option of getting off and site seeing in Georgetown and catching a later boat ride back to Alexandria. Go early enough in the day to be able to take advantage of this option.

Booked through Viator, but apparently can be booked direct through Potomac Riverboat Company. Absolutely ideal as an informal, scenic, pleasant outing. Good narrative of the many sights along the Potomac. As a history buff & DC-area resident it was nothing new for me, but for kids or typical tourists it is informative & interesting. Aboard the Matthew Hayes there is... More

What a relaxing and peaceful way to cruise by the famous sites of our Nation's Capital. Comfortable seating inside or on top of the boat gives you a great way to take tons of beautiful photos. Your ticket includes a stop at the Arlington waterfront before returning to Georgetown.

The metro wasn't working but we wanted to take the boat trip anyway. There are 4 a day in each direction so plan your trip so you have time to visit everything you want to see. You can take a single or a return. It's an interesting trip and we managed to fit in all the monuments we wanted to... More

We departed from Georgetown. It was windy so we were on the enclosed boat with open rooftop. The tour allows you to see the Lincoln, Washington and Jefferson Memorials. Not much to see after those until you get to Alexandria. You can visit Alexandria or turn right around and head back to Georgetown. All-in-all it was about 1.5 hours round... More
