Seats For Reservations Only NOT Trolley Riders!
Jul 2021 • Friends
My daughter and I went with a group on the “Crozet Trolley” and we were shocked that although we were coming to the vineyard with a large group - seating was NOT AVAILABLE for us. We had to sit on the grass or on a picnic table way out in Siberia! Of course, the picnic tables were all taken. We ended up sitting in the stairs! They had ALL of the areas roped off because you had to “reserve” seats. IF the trolley is bringing us, someone should have arranged for seating for this group. There was plenty of space. I found this very rude and unacceptable. The best thing was the little box and 4 small bottles of wines to taste. However, I realized the idea was to “grab and go” because we weren’t welcomed here.

Great lunch and wine flight!
Jun 2021 • Friends
While on a road trip with my parents, we stopped in for a quick wine tasting and lunch. We enjoyed a beautiful salad and a very lovely flight of wines. The atmosphere was rustic but upscale, with a friendly staff and plenty of outdoor seating.

Lovely Patio Lunch
Jun 2021
We really enjoy lunch on the tented patio with views of the vineyard vines followed by a walk around the fields. Very pleasant afternoon, polishing off a great salad (me) and a delicious burger for my husband. Food seemed fresh and came out quickly. Also managed to finish an entire bottle of Veritas Chardonnay! Wines were reasonably priced. Lucked out with perfect weather too! Hope you are as fortunate. Very relaxing.

Nice place, good victuals and wine but shabby treatment.
Jun 2021 • Couples
Had reservations today for Fathers’ Day. We have enjoyed many delightful lunches here on the veranda - modest selection of good wines and a decent lunch menu. Today they put us inside the tasting room in a dark corner. When I asked why their answer was “Those (on the porch) are all booked.” They finally offered us a table on the other side, away from the other diners, in the sun, at a picnic table.
We have stayed at the Farmhouse several times and recommended them to our friends. We have dined at Veritas several times and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We are members of their Reserve wine club.
I have recently had some health challenges and now require a cane. Perhaps they don’t want people who present as “handicapped” to be visible among their other “regular” patrons?
We had a reservation. We are good repeat customers. We were not treated with respect. I would like to know why. If it was a case of staff dropping the ball then train them better. If this is policy, let me know and I will not trouble Veritas with my presence or my money again.

I'm sorry to hear that your Father's Day visit was not up to the standards that you have come to expect from Veritas. Please rest assured that we do not have any policies, formal or informal, that would suggest to our staff that it would be in any way acceptable to treat people with disabilities or mobility problems, visible or not, with less respect. There are a number of different reservation options available to book, one of which is indoor seating. It appears that your reservation was made for indoor seating which is why you were originally seated in the Tasting Room. Our staff did their best to accommodate your request on what was a busy day. The picnic table on the brick patio was one of the few available that had not been booked in advance. I sincerely apologize that you felt you were being seated away from other patrons for any other reason, that was certainly not the intention. We will be following up with you one-on-one to make this right. -Lindsey

Tasting on a rainy day
Jun 2021
We have been to a number of Wineries but Veritas is well organized, spacious and service excellent and we will return. You can taste a flight or sample by the glass. Adjoining picnic area is a plus when the weather cooperates. Perfect activity for a rainy day.

Rockslide...meant we got to visit this awesome winery!!
Jun 2021
Our son has lived in Lynchburg for 17 years, so we are frequent flyers to the area. Due to the rockslide we were rerouted onto the very very windy, hairpin turn Route 6. Since I do have motion sickness I told hubby that we were stopping at the next winery or brewery we saw just for a breather.
Luckily...there was Veritas just waiting for us. Our arrival time was good...only a couple people were there, but as we stayed (time limit of 60 minutes or an additional charge), it got crowded quickly as it was a gorgeous Saturday!
This place is spectacularly beautiful and expansive. The views of the mountains are incredible! Areas are roped off per group, so our group of 2 had a huge area, and a large picnic table.
We did a tasting of 4 wines-and actually bought a bottle of each one! Viognier, Rose, Merlot, and Red Star. We are from the New York Fingerlakes Wine area-and we have delicious wine. This was also very good.
We have been going to wineries in VA for 17 years, and each year we feel that they are getting a bit better. We were thrilled that we accidently happened upon this winery, and likely will visit again!

Wine Lovers' RoadTrip MUST!
May 2021
Admittedly, very pleasantly surprised by the experience! Well organized, COVID friendly protocols, BEAUTIFUL scenery and good wines. Definitely recommend for wine enthusiasts on a road-trip to Charlottesville. Great space for families and picnics.

What a disappointment
May 2021
Where do I start. We're from North Carolina and my sister and her husband from New Jersey. We've been planning to meet in Charlottesville for this celebration for 7 months About 3 weeks before Mother's Day I went on your website to make reservations for the 4 course Mother's Day meal for a 'Patio Seating' at 4pm. Apparently I hit the wrong button and missed out on the 4 course meal. I've even been getting confirmation e-mails all week. We were told to go to the other restaurant. When we arrived at 3:45pm we were immediately seated by the hostess. We wanted to do the 'Reserve' tasting and were told we had to do it by 4pm and no time to eat. We ordered a cheese board and scoffed it down before rushing upstairs a few minutes before 4 for the tasting. We bought 3 bottles of the expensive 'Reserves' and even asked if we could take one downstairs to eat with dinner and were told that would be fine. We got downstairs to eat about 4:40 and were told the kitchen was closed at 4:30. We were in disbelief. NO ONE ever mentioned that. The hostess, the waiter who brought us the cheese board who we even discussed should we eat first or after the tasting or the server at the Wine tasting. He had the opportunity when we asked if we could drink it downstairs with our meal. We were extremely disappointed. What a disorganized group of folks. We had even hired a driver because were thought we were going to be drinking a lot of wine with our 4 course meal!!!! We had to call the driver back who took us to many other restaurants back in Charlottesville only to end up at a restaurant in the Wegman's parking lot. You will never get a recommendation from us....guaranteed.
