Don't Look Too Close But Do taste the Wines

Mixed reactions to this visit. It is a nice setting. But the tasting room around the edges is filthy. Just don't look. Do what you went there for -- taste the wines. Some interesting wines to sample. One in particular is a hopped Chardonnay. Why? Because they could. To me this gets away from wine making to beverage making --... More

We visited this winery and a few others while in the Afton area. While their wines were solid, there was nothing very memorable about this winery. Good wines, but nothing memorable. It's worth a stop in you're nearby, but I wouldn't plan a trip to just this winery.

We arrived late in the afternoon but were still welcomed and given a good tasting session by the knowledgeable lady server. Free tasting if you buy a bottle of wine. Not a big tasting room but nice and unusual wines.

Friendly servers in a nice rural setting. Free tastings for military and teachers! Cabernet Franc recently won an award and it was well deserved. A cellar selection to wait on for a few years.

The tasting room is somewhat old and uninviting, and the wines are pretty average. But the people are nice, and they seem to get a pretty decent crowd there on weekends. Particularly with the live music they had the day we visited.

Always enjoy visiting Cardinal Point, friendly staff, quality wines and I prefer smaller production where the focus is on great wine using quality local grapes. Their annual Oyster Festival is outstanding........check them out!

We knew we only had time for one vineyard in Afton and had selected Cardinal Point. Overall, we now wished we would have selected the other one. Service: Henry seemed uninterested during the wine tasting. Vineyard: No views here. All of the common area's sit beneath the vineyard. Tasting: Based on the vineyard we visited the day before, this one... More

The wine tasting was a little expensive but was not charged because we purchased wines. We ended up buying half a case. The owner's dog was very friendly.

We visited Cardinal Point winery as part of the Nelson 151 wine trail. This was a nice visit and the woman leading the tasting was really nice and friendly. Even gave us dinner suggestions. We would like to attend some of their events some time. Wines were good. Tastings are offered at the bar during normal business hours for $7... More

I haven't been to many wineries, so I'm not drawing from a lot of experience when I say this was my least favorite winery. The service was okay. I didn't particularly care for the wine. There wasn't one that really stood out. There was an outdoor patio with tables and seating. It was also just okay, nothing special. The seating... More
