Interesting way to get a glimpse of Abingdon history back to Revolutionary and Civil War times. Cemetery unfortunately does not provide much information about location of graves or about the folks buried there.

Pull up and get a map off the gate. The map shows the different burial plots and the history of those people and families. Log cabin on site and Robert E Lee's cousins buried here.

Really a lot of history here. Stop at the gate for a brochure. They have a detailed map to follow in which you can easily find interesting grave sites.

Had a bit of extra time and drove through. Informative brochures available at gate. Would like to have more time to walk around and really look.

We were not aware of any pamphlet to help us with guiding us about the cemetery. There was an interesting mausoleum like mound that looked like a cave. We didn't get out to see who was buried there. Our loss.

Seriously, wonderfully historic cemetary with many graves of soldiers from the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Several important historic Virgina political figures as well. It doesn't matter if you know anything about history, just the diversity of tombstones are a sight to see. Also, the relocated cabin on the property from the late 1700s is cool.

My daughter and I enjoy walking around this cemetery reading the names and dates. We have written down the names of those who seemed prominent or who sparked our interest and come home to google to learn more about their role in Abingdon.

This is a very interesting and historical graveyard but there was no information available to explain the unusual above ground vine covered grave

Could use some type of order to it like someone mentioned a brochure. Otherwise it's just a bunch of graves. Much history behind this site than meets the eyes!
