not as commercialised as some ski resorts, this low fuss resort is perfect for skiiers of all levels. They also have great instructors to teach on relatively easy terrain. Has the hill rope to get you back up when you have skiied all the way to the bottom. Cafe lounge (limited food), gift shop, ski lifts and different terrains available.... More

Alta is a perfect ski hill for a family ski trip with young kids. First it has great parking with easy access to the chairlift. We parked at the Albion base area and only had about a 100 yard walk to the ticket area/chairlift. Second, the Sunnyside chairlift serviced the lower half of the mountain which was perfect for my... Some of the best snow and terrain. Something for everyone from groomed runs to untouched snow all easily accessible and laid out well. Food prices are decent and lines are small. Love this place

We took a first time skier to Alta and she took one week of classes. Her progress was slow but through and safe. Two years later she is up to intermediate slopes and loves Alta. When the snow is plentiful like this year you can go anywhere they open and have the run of your life. Quieter, and much calmer... More

The terrain is great for everyone in the family. I can hit the hairy stuff while the rest can tame the groomers and meet at the same lift. This place is like a puzzle, each visit more is exposed and learned. The locals are friendly, except when the powder drops. No friends on a powder day and most everyone follows... More

The staff here were extremely friendly and helpful. My kids enjoyed the ski school. Kristen was so helpful and kind. The mountain was a lot of fun. The food was delicious and plenty of space. Thanks Alta for a good vibe!

Alta is a SKIERS ONLY... boarders need read no further. Skiers: you wouldn't believe how much of a difference that makes. You'll have to go check it out as soon as possible. While all ski resorts rely on Mother Nature, of course, this resort has some great off piste skiing, wonderful groomed trails, and lovely vistas. If you've ever been... More

If you are a beginner ar skiing this is your place. From all the ski resorts in Utah, this is my favourite one, the slopes are not bad at all so you can relax and learn at your own peace. Like in any other place, try to get there early before it gets too crowded, you dont want other beginners... More

Skiing at its best. How can you get any better than this. No boarders to plow the snow down the mountain. Highly recommend traversing out to Catherine's area at least once if not a couple of times and go as far as you can to the boundry for the best runs. Plenty of ungroomed trails/areas to ski. Be sure to... More

If you like the feel of a smaller resort, but with big mountain terrain, Alta is your place (skiers only though)! Modest lodge but amazing service. We both took lessons, beginner and advanced, which were top-notch. I've skied and boarded at Snowbird... Also amazing but definitely not the same relaxed small mountain feel.
