There are so many gorgeous murals in Austin… such a colorful artistic city. But this one? Very touristy (long lines to take a turn) and not very special. Walk a block in either direction and you’ll find much better options.

I LOVE city wall art and was super excited to visit Austin. Everywhere you look you see something amazing. Everyone kept telling me, don't miss the "I love you so much mural" so I was pumped to go check it out. Dude. It's some words on a wall. What?? I guess I don't get it.

I know it's going to sound mean, but I live in Austin and I just don't get why anyone would intentionally go out of their way to see this "mural". Austin is full of cool art and graffiti and this just isn't worth it to me. It's pretty much just a selfie stop and nothing more. I guess if you really needed to kill 5 minutes this could do the trick but if you're visiting you'd be better off spending your time doing things that are actually fun.

Why on God's Green Earth did this get added to Trip Advisor?? I have suggested numerous locations that are actually something to visit and they have been turned down while this spray painted thing gets added and is highly rated. It has even been touched up as it has faded lines under what is there now. It is worth two seconds if you happen to stop at Jo's Coffee.

How is this a tourist attraction? We walked by this sloppily written, fading spray paint while we were exploring SoCo, which also was not impressive by any means.. During this time, we never knew this was a "mural." I'm honestly shocked. There was no one anywhere near it on a busy Monday afternoon around lunch in beautiful weather, so I don't know where the lines are.

..not some Pink Floyd thing..just cursive tagging.
I've lived in a Austin for a year and I still have never understood the fascination, the phenomenon with this. Maybe some people need extra love, thus are drawn to it.

Thats all it is - exactly that spray painted on a wall. We were visiting friends in the city and they took us here for a photo. Maybe im not the romantic type, but there are many other places i would like to take my picture in front of. I dont understand the draw. In fact, not too far away there is an actual "Austin" mural, the famous lettering youd see on post cards. Thats a much better photo op.

When I walked by this "public attraction" last night I didn't realize it was a "public attraction". People (mostly ditzy females) were going photo-op/selfie crazy around it. Really? It's just a wall with "I love you very much" sprayed on it. Maybe I'm just an old jaded New Yorker but I found this "artwork" deeply meh.

I really cannot understand what's the fuss here that this wall inscription (it's not graffiti) deserved the Certificate of Excellence???
There are millions alike worldwide, 3 or 4 around my home here, and no one comes to take a pic with it.
You cannot miss this on South Congress which is indubitably a very interesting area, but it's such a common and simple inscription people take photos like crazy??
Much more interesting, and worth waiting in line is the not so far "Greetings from Austin" mural.
