While the art is still there the park is closed to anyone trying to get an up close and personal view of the art. They have a police officer who is mostly on his phone not worried about the people that are there. They have chain- link fences surrounding the place so no one can get in. The art is amazing and wonderful. So if you’d like to go see it through a fence then do.

This landmark piece of art and history in Austin - a "park" where people were encouraged to bring their own spray paint and add to the graffiti - is gone. They're going to build apartments or condos or something. Very sad.
My son and I had a wonderful time when we went - and he did some amazing graffiti.

This was recommended to us by the barrister at our hotel in Houston, so we asked for directions at the visitors centre after our double decker bus tour.
It's a bit tricky to find, I think we were misdirected but if you take 6th street all the way from Downtown you'll come across it.
It far exceeded my expectations, it was AMAZING, I was literally expecting one wall with a bit of graffiti but it was so much more, stacked on what can only be described as sand dunes there are a number of walls on lots of different levels and you can climb to the top, we didn't because it started to rain and we got drenched, be warned there is no shelter but it was totally worth it and I would definitely visit again, a MUST see.

Bring your own spray paint. While in Austin I jumped on trip advisor to find some quick day things to do before my flight. I did see there was a tour to this area for like 50.00. I decided to just drive over and see if there would be an entrance fee and explore on my own. So, basically it is on the side of the road, no entrance fee. Park and walk over. Wear sneakers if you plan to go to the top. There are no restrooms, or snacks or beverages here. Some people might say "it's dirty" there were spray paint cans all over, but it was so cool. Loved the expressive art everywhere, the spray paint cans to me bright a feeling of walking in an art exhibit. If you're not an art lover you might not appreciate this experience. Personally, I loved it.

Very disappointed with this one parking was horrible area was very dirty trash everywhere some artist with open bottle of wine and beer. Some of the art was amazing but was no control not artists defacing some of the great art. Not a place for young kids at all

I wanted to see the park because I wanted to see graffiti art. I don’t really know what was going on, but most of the graffiti looked like one painting over top of another and another...couldn’t make anything out. Was a big mess. We walked several miles to get here. The walk through Austin was great. The graffiti was awful, sorry. The random graffiti throughout the city is much better.

The graffiti park is just a corner of a hill with no gates , no parking space,no guards, no staff ,no layout and no plan, But that is what makes it the most sought after attraction in Austin, Texas. People are friendly and anything available at the lot , the benches, trash cans, dumpster, walls, hillside, ground, are fit as canvases to paint, spray or make dirty. All accept able to the onlookers.

We took a few engagement photos here. For just a few dollars you can buy spray paint on site and pick an area to paint. Such fun to let your creative, rebellious side out!

Castle hill is one of my favorite Austin past times. Although it is a quick trip it is a nice activity when you find yourself with nothing else to do. Art is constantly changing and feel free to grab a can of paint for yourself and have fun. Parking is hard so if you can avoid the parking right in front do so.

Graffiti park is a unique place to go, it's fun to climb around on all the levels and add to the many layers of spray paint. if you're lucky you might even see some real talent planning out a big mural. they're supposedly "moving" this as they want to build condos on the lot so don't put off this attraction for your next visit because it might not be there!
