This is so current with its political humor that you will not believe it. And to have it committed to song is amazing. Treat yourself and your guests to an Austin tradition. Reserved seats are not necessary. Be aware if you are on the front...More
My family has been enjoying Esther’s Follies since the late 1970’s. Shannon Sedgwick has sparked the show for years with her spot on impersonations of famous female personalities. Not only is Ray Anderson’s magic totally amazing, he is one of the best comedians in the...More
What a fun show!! If you are ready for some adult humor that makes you laugh - you need to do this. Small venue right in the middle of all the downtown Austin nightlife. Very well assembled high energy cast that really keeps the show...More
This really was worth the $25 ticket price. The small intimate theatre had a great atmosphere, it was packed and everyone seemed to be laughing out loud.
This is a great bunch of people with real talent. They get the balance right of satire and...More
High energy, fast moving, funny, entertaining show. I would recommend it. The magic was especially impressive. Extending the show to the sidewalk outside was a fun idea. The theater is small so the view from most seats, if not all, should be fine.
Not knowing what to expect, this place is tiny, seats packed in and in many ways just simple fun entertainment. There’s magic, jokes, politics (more on the liberal side) and more. Performing in front of a window that faces the street, they even include passerby’s...More

Have seen this show more than 15 times of the past ~20 years. I have taken many friends and family visiting Austin as this was great entertainment, unique to Austin, and poked fun at all sides.
Unfortunately, over the past couple of years, the show...More

I think it would be fine to bring a 14 - 15 yr old. if they're politically aware, they would certainly understand the jokes. I do not feel it was overly raunchy, just clever political satire. all that being said, it is... More
I think it would be fine to bring a 14 - 15 yr old. if they're politically aware, they would certainly understand the jokes. I do not feel it was overly raunchy, just clever political satire. all that being said, it is liberal leaning in it's content. and the magic was amazing. enjoy the show!

The shows on a weekend are the same. However, the script is modified every week to cover different current events. Where I see the most consistency is with the magic act. But, these are always good and always enjoyed... More
The shows on a weekend are the same. However, the script is modified every week to cover different current events. Where I see the most consistency is with the magic act. But, these are always good and always enjoyed. There are always a few tried-and-true skits. We always look forward to the Texas redistricting skit by former Texas Governor Rick Perry. I have been to the shows over five times, and no two shows are the same. Further, I've never been disappointed that any two shows are almost the same.

Austin, much to the disappointment of indigenous Austinites, has become Silicon Valley liberal, and some Trump bashing is to be expected. But don't let that stop you from enjoying a not to be missed trip back to vaudeville.
