If you like to relax and mediate, you need to visit here. It is amazing that so many peacocks live here. You see them cross the street sometimes as well. This is a place to visit during the cooler month and not in the hot summer. This is also a great place for taking pictures m

It was a dull overcast day with the occasional shower but this did not dampen our enjoyment. The gardens and ponds are a delight to wander around but will not take you long. The tracks outside of the walled gardens are not too demanding and are a fantastic way to get away and enjoy the bush and river trails. We... More

I visited on a weekend and was the only one there. It was a really peaceful and relaxing visit. I was able to take some great shots of the peacocks and photographed all of the butterflies that were fluttering around!

Peacocks, Lily Pads, Turtles and Gorgeous Gardens cared for by local volunteers. Carefree walk through the gardens and around the 1800's cottage. Peacocks very used to humans gladly spread their feathers and parade around. Can see this part of Mayfield in 30 minutes or relax and hang around for as long as you would like. Note: pathways are rough so... More

We go there to do light hiking through the pathways and see the beautiful cottage, gardens, and peacocks who roam around. Nice area, easy to go with younger kids.

No kidding - lots of peacocks to see! Beautiful creatures to watch freely roaming around the house strutting their magnificent feathers in full glory. After we enjoyed walking outside of the main house, property & gardens, we walked the trails. Absolutely gorgeous views. Greatly appreciated the benches and sitting areas along the trails. Lots of trees provided lots of shade... More

A garden full of roaming peacocks? Sounds crazy but its true. This is an absolute must on any visit to Austin. It is very peaceful in the gardens and one can easily spend a couple of hours here. Try to go during the evenings, we noticed the peacocks were much more active during that time. A great spot for a... More

What a nice free attraction. Peacocks were very friendly and showed their stuff. Wear bug spray and good shoes if you want to hike the trails.

Very nice and peaceful park... Not to far from Austin. The best part are the peacock. Beautiful walking around all over and if you get lucky the will open their wings and show off the amazing feathers!!!

Based on the recommendations I saw here, we short listed the Mayfield Park Cottage and Gardens as a thing to do when in Austin in Late April. I would recommend the trails for a nice walk. There are some trails that will lead you down to the waterfront. We enjoyed the grounds for the cottage and interacting (from afar) with... More
