Took out grand kids there. They loved it. The birds, of course, as well as the ponds. We also visited the Lagona Goria art museum next door and wandered around the grounds and the hiking paths.

Grandchildren visiting so took them here to take a lot of pictures. A great place for photos. I love this park. It was under a little construction, but still a great place. The kids were intrigued by the peacocks. Beautiful.

The giant lilly pads, enormous koi, and multitude of peacocks were pure joy for myself and my kids. The staff even allowed my kids to help feed the peacocks. I can't believe I've lived in Austin my whole life and only recently discovered this place.

If I had a big back yard, It would be like this. Peacocks in the trees, on the roofs, in the bushes, on the lawns, by the ponds and other places. I am saying more than one or two peacocks and hens. Small garden plots...More

I love this park. Great to bring your kids, great for a date and great for out of town visitors. We often tour Laguna Gloria (next door) and then hit Mayfield Park. You can bring a picnic lunch as they have tables just outside the...More

There are 2 areas to Mayfield. The gardens and ponds around the house and the walking trails. The peacocks are fun to see and there's always something in the ponds to look at. I love the little gardens- people adopt a section and plant them...More

This place is a fun, great park with Peacocks right where you park & around the cabin / house and grounds. There are some beautiful shade trees in the more formal grounds with some koi ponds, turtles, frogs and a bunch of peacocks and peahens...More

From where I parked, the trails were on the right, and the cottage was on the left. I added a photo (likely still being reviewed by Trip Advisor) to help clarify.

Yes, it is free. Take lots of film or a car charger for your camera or phone. You could do it in an hour, but the best experience is if you can spend several hours there, possibly, pack a small lunch and enjoy. Even small... More
