While we had seen the Capitol from the outside several times, and it is an impressive structure, we were impressed by what we saw inside. There are multiple levels that are accessible by wide stairs, and the balconies have portraits of all former governors of Texas state. Were genuinely surprised to see the few women on the walls :)! The woodwork is imposing and the inlay on the inside of the dome is beautiful. You can really sense the state's oil money in this building. The grounds are pretty. The only ding was being followed around by a person while we were exploring the grounds. We left soon after.…

I would say a must see if you have the time and you are a history lover. Its a beautiful building, so much history. Loved the visit, take a free tour, guides were knowledgeable. Enjoyed this quite a lot and spent more time than expected.

We visited at night so walked around the grounds at night and took some very nice photos as it is lit up very nicely at night. We literally made a quick stop but was worth it.

This was hands down the funnest time ! My high school and college kids had a blast ! We chased Pokemon all over the place ! Got in lots of laughs and walking ! Everyone there (1000 + ) yells out when they catch a great Pokemon .not to mention what a beautiful piece of history !

I was looking at Trip Advisor trying to figure out what I wanted to see when I went to Austin this time and found that people were having problems finding this location. I decided to make a point to find and add a photo or two. I have to say, if you are walking you can stop so you can say that you were here, but it isn’t very impressive at all. When I was there, I found the garden to be a little overgrown and there was a lot of trash laying around. Parking was easy as it is right off of the corner, but it isn’t worth a special trip.…
