Zilker Park itself is Austin's backyard! It is a great location for playing, picnicking, people watching...the park offers a wide variety of options for all ages. The playground is worth visiting several times. The imagination of a young park visitor will just run wild! Fun playscape that doesn't get old quickly, train ride that is interesting for small and older... More

We spent about an hour here on a sunny day and had to tear my 2 year old away from it. He loved the sprawling play structure and we enjoyed the beautiful setting. It's right next to the famous Barton Springs Pool so you could definitely make an afternoon of it. The miniature train runs right through the playground- much... More

Really neat playground area. A short walk down to the river and Barton Springs pool. It was too cold for us to dip even a toe, however (brave) people were out swimming. Overall, a nice peaceful place to spend sometime with the kids.

Ride the old time train through the park - it's just as sweet as it can be. Even on a blustery day little kids love it. And for parents and grandparents, it's like going back in time. Great, simple fun.

This is an Austin tradition! Solid playscapes and adequate parking, next to Zilker pool. Bring cash to ride the train!

Two large playground areas and a train. Fun for kids 2-10. Grab snacks and a snow cone from the snack shop.

The Zilker playground was a nice place to get away for the day and just allow the kids to burn off some energy. The playground has various play areas and also a train that runs through the park at various times. The train costs a small fee to enjoy though we did not ride on it. All in all, its... More

This is what a park should be, it has it all! The train is maybe $2 or so per adult and $1 for kids.... More
