We had the opportunity to visit the garden prior to the torrential rain on this past weekend. The gardens are beautiful, relaxing, and very colorful. Walk slowly and enjoy the beautiful foliage....there is much to see. The enchanted fairy garden is especially pleasant and fun for the little girls - but the boys seemed intrigued by the little homes for... More

Liked the flowers and shade. Disliked the fire ants near daylilies. I wrote a longer review under Zilker metropolitan park. The shop could sell even more flower seeds and someone like me would buy them I think.

An excellent place to see a lot of different plants and trees, as well as a few turtles and huge koi. The Japanese garden is quite extensive with many lovely stone statues and interesting water gardens with koi and water lilies. Irregular stone paths lead you around the various trees and plants. The only downside is that most of the... More

There are so many nice parts to this garden. My favorite part has always been the Japanese garden and the stepping stones. You can learn a lot about landscaping and native plants here. On our most recent visit I also enjoyed the rose garden, prehistoric trail, and fairy trail. Highly recommended to anyone who loves nature.

Zilker Botanical Garden is a beautiful setting to experience all the different plants native to Texas. The different areas of the garden are nicely done including areas for children. The garden is not so huge that it can't be enjoyed within a couple of hours. The admission price is very reasonable.

I live close to the gardens ( fortunately for me) and my 2 grandchildren are always delighted to go there and be there. We love the Koi ponds, the fairy gardens and the waterfall especially. Once saw a green heron bathing in the waterfall - a bonus!

If you are into beautiful gardens, of differing styles, this is one place to visit. Faerie gardens to find, succulents and cactus area, butterfly trail, rose garden, and my fav, the Japanese gardens. Well worth the small price of entry to spend several hours here. Don't forget to find the dinosaur in one of the areas. Great photos ops here.

I had heard Zilker had a nice botanical garden, but I had no idea it was this huge and amazing. One minute you're in a peaceful Japanese tea garden, the next you're looking a beautiful hill of roses. Then just around the corner you're suddenly in a tropical prehistoric environment. Just so diverse overall. And for just two bucks, the... More

Spent 2 hours here in the rain and it was a refreshing, green experience. The Japanese Garden is spectacular but the entire Garden is worth a visit. My only comment; wish I had brought earplugs to truly unplug -- there isn't a spot where I didn't hear traffic :(.
