As the title of my review says.. I came here for a few drinks at the bar, late evening-ish with a friend. Excellent, authentic live texas music being played (honestly the band was on fire). By the time I left I found myself wishing I would have stay a few nights.

Had the 7 course price fixed Thanksgiving dinner. My wife had short ribs and I had the turkey. A liitle more gravy would have been nice. The sides were awesome, too. Dan our server did a great job.

My stay at the Driskill was really good! prime spot and very friendly staff. Bar was very good. They must of had some water issues when i stayed because taps and shower were making some funny noises.

I'd read the reviews so I popped in to have a look. The architecture is fascinating and well worth a visit on its own. I looked at both the cafe and restaurant menus and I saw plenty to make me want to go back and eat there. I think staying there is out of my price range but I'd like... More

We didn't stay at the hotel, but went to the bar to have a drink and soak in the culture. It gets quite crowded so get there early if possible if you want a seat. There was live music and great people watching. They serve a 'batini' which they claim is the official drink of Austin. To me it wasn't... More

The hotel itself is beautiful. Walking inside feels like if you were stepping into history...I don't know if it really is haunted or not but I don't think I'd be brace enough to stay more than one night to find out...especially in room 525 the "suicide suite."

We didn't stay in the hotel (we will next time) but we walked in several times and had drinks and snacks. It is a very nice historical building, now being restored on the outside. The space inside is majestic. The bar is wonderful and the selection of wines, beers and small plate impressive. Not more expensive than other places nearby.

What a cool hotel. Definitely provides a taste of Austin culture that can't be captured by big hotel chains. Def recommend staying here when visiting downtown area.
