If you want to experience and learn about Texas history, go to the Driskill. This is an icon of Texas, not just a hotel. The rich wood, elegant staircase and Texan art will give you a cozy feeling. A good Sunday brunch or a cocktail at the bar will add to the experience.

If you are not staying at this beautiful and historic hotel, please check it out. It's great for pictures, getting dinner, a bit to eat, a cocktail, coffee, etc.

We visited and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and food. A real pleasure to visit for a lazy Sunday afternoon lunch.

This was on our bucket list for quite a while and we were able to get a really good rate for a Saturday Night. Stay was fantastic and staff was great. Room was very nice and the beds were extremely comfortable.

One of the best in the country. I'm a fan of historical locations and a link to the locale - and if you are nodding, then this is your hotel. It's rooms are renovated so don't worry about running into another cowboy on your way to the washroom down the hall - this is a modern luxury hotel in all... More

All I can say is WOW! You have to stop in here for a beer and a bite to eat. This may have the most amazing architecture of any building in Austin. We stopped in just to have a quick beer while walking around town and wound up staying for 3 hours and ordering dinner. The place is incredible, to... More

We stayed at the Omni Hotel down the street, but quickly bonded to the Beautiful Driskill for breakfasts and dinner at 1886 restaurant, and drinks and live music in their lounge. It is a wonderful place to snap beautiful pictures and let Facebook friends think you stayed there!

Very average food, nothing to remark about. Tad expensive for avg food. The draw is the history of the hotel.

Yes, it is indeed a beautiful hotel, and the fact that Lyndon B Johnson had his first date with his wife Lady Bird in the hotel is very romantic, but lets be honest it's a hotel. I would have enjoyed seeing the presidential suite, however I'm quite sure it's out of my budget. The hotel is pet friendly which is... More
