About
Texas Bike Tours creates custom cycling experiences. Rides include mountain biking, road, gravel and limited city cycling. From the heart of downtown Austin to the heart of the Texas Hill Country in the west or the blackland praire to the east, you imagine an experience and we create it. Texas Bike Tours was founded in 2012 with the goal of spreading the joy of cycling. We began creating luxury, aesthetic rides to immerse guests in local culture with the bicycle as transportation through a uniquely Texan experience. Today, our founding spirit of joyful exploration remains, as do our skilled local guides and personalized touch, but our mission has expanded. With the growing need for all different kinds of cycling tours, we’ve evolved to support any cyclist in realizing his or her vision of time on a bike. Culinary experiences available. UPDATE: We are always interested in new adventures. If you have an experience in mind that isn't listed here, let us know.

My son recently moved to Austin, and Deaton thoughtfully planned a highly custom experience so that we could enjoy time together exploring and learning about his new city. She asked lots of great questions and communicated back and forth to ensure we saw what was important to us, then was very flexible as the trip unfolded. I look forward to touring with Deaton again when I return to Austin!

Can't say enough great things about Texas Bike Tours! We had a wonderful multi-day bike tour of Austin and surrounding areas. Deaton and our guide, Jeff, took great care in planning a personalized trip that allowed us to explore the city and take in the beauty of the region. It felt great to get outdoors, get a workout, and have fun while doing it!

Deaton put a lot of time and care into making our bike tours in Austin perfect for us. Her custom city tour was a great way to see all the parts of Austin we were interested in at our own pace and learn about the city from a local. My husband also did a challenging road ride into the hill country a second day with Jeff as a guide. Thanks Deaton for a fantastic time. The time we spent on our bikes with you and Jeff were the highlight of our vacation! Highly recommend TXBT

Deaton did a great job listening to our needs and designing the best biking tour for our Guys Weekend!
One day we did 20 miles near Fredericksburg, TX including the Willow City Loop. Deaton helped us time our tour perfectly and we saw wildflowers blooming everywhere!
The second day, we did 30 miles on the east side of Austin with a guide that Deaton had arranged.
Both of them were amazing experiences. Deaton made it possible for us to stay in Austin and enjoy the city and took care of the bike rental, transportation, and other details of the trip.
It was a perfect Guys Weekend!

For my 40th Birthday, I had a goal to put my mind and body to the ultimate challenge, and planed an Ultra Endurance bike ride from Austin to Houston in one day. It was very difficult for me to find a Driver to support me on this ride, until I contacted Texas Bike Tours. Texas Bike Tours welcomed the Ride, and was more then happy to help me for this. After planning for this ride for a few months, during the week of execution, we had some planning discussions and everything worked out very well. Deaton showed me the setup she had planned out, and the strategy we used to execute this plan. The day of the ride we executed the ride, and she was behind me the entire time. They were there for me for all situations, Fueling, Rest stops etc.. Best of all I completed the ride with the goal and achieved the goal. I biked 160 Miles from Austin to Houston, and everything was fully successful. Best way to turn 40, and one of the best experiences of my life. I dont think I could have completed this safely without the Help of Texas Bike Tours. Thank you so much for helping me complete this.

Deaton did a great job putting together an itinerary that fit exactly what we were looking for!! She made sure to check in with us each day to see if we wanted to modify anything, and to make sure the rides were what we were looking for. And Jeff was a fantastic guide. We'll definitely be using Texas Bike Tours again on our next trip!

Rolling around Austin with Deaton was the highlight of our family trip. Excellent planning on Deaton’s part allowed us to get a taste of what the locals experience. If you are looking for the most reasonably priced custom tour... get in touch with Deaton. Seriously, you can’t miss TBTX when in Austin.

We don't usually write reviews but this tour was just awesome. We only had 2 days in Austin so Deaton organised a 6 hour ride that showed us so much of this lovely city. Jacob was an extremely knowledgeable guide and such a friendly person, which made the 6 hours pass so quickly but with no dull moments. The homemade granola bars were delicious. This tour was a real highlight of our two week visit to USA and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Austin.

I recently signed up for a bike tour through Austin completely on a whim. Let me preface this review by mentioning that I have little to no experience on a bicycle at all. Despite this it was an AMAZING experience for myself and the folks that rode with me! I spoke with Deaton our tour guide a few days before heading to Austin and immediately felt at ease. She was so passionate and thoughtful about our tour, she took great care in finding places that would be beautiful and would suit my needs as a novice bike rider! It was a beautiful experience that we will always remember and I owe it all to Our Texas bike tours guide Deaton. I was very unsure about completing the tour but Deaton really eased my fears and I've really been inspired to start riding!

This was a wonderful experience! Deaton was very responsive and designed an experience perfectly tailored to me and my dad. She provided everything we needed for our two hour evening ride (bikes, helmets, bike lights, water bottles) and even a few special and delicious surprises along the way. Even though we're pretty familiar with Austin, she showed us some places we'd never seen, all with gorgeous sunset views and fun riding spots. We got to learn about the history of some of the spots, future plans of others, and really partake in Austin's culture and tradition. I would definitely take my family and friends on future rides with TXBT!

Do you ever use electric bikes?
Written February 22, 2018
Hello, yes TXBT does use electric bikes for guests. In creating custom rides for guests, we rent the type of bikes they prefer and matches the route created for them.
