Came to Austin for the IMSA/WEC races and immediately realized why it's a FIA Grade 1 track. The facilities are spectacular, the track is surprisingly safe and very fast, and the upkeep leaves no room for criticism. That said, it's hard to rate anything that occurs in 110ºF heat 5 stars. It's also disheartening (though not really COTA's fault) that... More

Just returned from COTA Lonestar Lemans Race. It was hot and there's not much shade. Bring an umbrella (without the point on top) so you can have shade. You are only allowed to bring 1 bottle of water per person into the racetrack property - I think no bigger than 20-24 oz. The place is huge and there is transportation... More

We went for the 2016 WEC in September and it was hot! The circuit is pretty spectacular and we enjoyed the all the racing but the spectator facilities were disappointing. We had the multiturn pass that allowed access to the main grandstand, turn 1 and turn 15 and we did visit all 3 but the only one with any shade... More

This year we went to several of the different races to learn about the sport. We haven't been to Formula One yet, which should be different from the rest. All the rest this year had such low attendance, you could sit anywhere you wanted in the grandstand even if you just had general seating. In the grandstand you get screens... More

Been coming since the first F1 race and we'll probably keep coming back. Great track with excellent facilities. Design limits watching the races from a variety of view points and the Texas heat will always be a factor. Expect high prices for food and beverages. Parking too far from gates to be practical for tailgating.

Please bring your own battery backup, as the Main Grandstand, with exclusive seating, does not have WiFi. Austin claims to be the Tech Capital of Texas, and it is embarrassing not to have cloud based services for guests. Also, there are no charging stations like at the airport.

A recent trip to this venue for the Le Mans WEC race left a great impression. Clean facilities for media and general guests were much appreciated. Colorful tracks, well-spaced stands, balanced venue with plenty of space to roam or relax for a race.

We have been to a lot of big league race tracks so we know a thing or two about them. We have wanted to see COTA since it opened. We love F1 but after we read about the way “regular fans” were treated at those races we decided to go to the track to see the WEC cars along with... More

I've been to a lot of F1 tracks around the world and some top race tracks in the US. This one has a great layout, wonderful seating options to view all the action but has some serious drawbacks. First of all, as others have mentioned there is VERY LITTLE SHADE anywhere on the campus. It will be HOT so bring... More

This is a multip-purpose venu, that was primarily a race track. Despite the controversy of the State kicking in $25 million to build it (for a multi-millionaire from England, no less), the venue has some good things. The parking is okay. Be prepared for REALLY long lines to get in and out. If you event offers paid parking, she'll out... More
