Went to the Rowing Center around 2pm and it was packed. Masks were optional and the line was over 100 yards long. It took 45 minutes in that line to get a broken paddle and a stand-up paddleboard with no fin. I asked for another paddle because it was clearly broken but instead I received attitude from the girl working the dock, telling me “if I don’t want it, someone else in this long line will take it.” I ended up using the paddle. When I was out on the water, having paid 20$ for an hour, the paddle broke even further and I was stranded. My friend strapped my board to his and took me back where I was met with investigative questions about how the paddle was broken. Across the water is another place you can rent kayaks, stand up paddle boards and other water vessels. I would highly recommend going there instead because the Texas Rowing Center did not care about health/safety of its customers in addition to renting out broken equipment.

Very friendly and laid back staff. This was a great way to try out paddle boarding and kayaking. The location is really good for relaxing and exploring.

There are so many boat rentals. We took a shot with this one. They were cool. 20 bucks to rent a canoe with a Facebook promo that gives you an extra hour. Caroline was really helpful. There were no add on charges. They were at the west end of the river across from Austin High. Decent water location. Thought parking would be a problem but you can park easily on the street across from the high school as long as you pay the machine a buck an hour. We’ll use them again. It was fun.

We took a walk to the Texas Rowing Center to rent our kayaks because it was very close to our downtown hotel. You can rent by the hour and the people who help you get set up are really friendly. We went west, under the five bridges that cross the lake and then kayaked toward the Barton Pool. Lots of turtles and wildlife to see along the way. Remember to use sunscreen because we did not!

Our party consisted of two couples and a four year old. We rented two canoes for the day for $100. Prices were higher for a holiday. (Black Friday) We had a fun time canoeing on the river. Lots of turtles sunning themselves, egrets, herons, and beautiful limestone cliffs.
