This area has a lot of shops and thrift stores. It was an easy bike ride from the hotel and I enjoyed the food trucks in the area.

SoCo feels like a third world country, a lot of junk, bad street and sidewalk. Definitely not for luxury travelers. Food overpriced and just ok.

Whenever I'm in Austin I come to the SoCo district. There's local shops and restaurants plus occasionally fantastic live music and it's a great place to wind down and people watch.

My wife and I love the South Congress area. Typically we will stroll around, head into Allen's Boots or many of the other hundred shops there where you'll find unique items. ( my wife finds them all).then grab a bite at one of our three favorites. Home SLize for great Pizza and beer, Hop Doddy for a great innovative burger... More

Don't miss First Thursday of each month at So-Co. All stories, galleries, bars and restaurants are open and the place is hopping. Every month, new places are opening and old places are jumping. Enjoy First Thursday in So-Co, deep in the heart of South Austin, Texas!

Excellent place to shop and dine when in Austin. Casual atmosphere with many eclectic shops and restaurants to visit. Great place to explore on foot just south a few blocks from downtown Austin.

I enjoy the people watching and all the knick knack shops. But my kids were not all that interested. My kids are tweenies. There was not a whole lot for them to do. They did enjoy one of the candy shops there. The street is lined up with lots of little eclectic shops. There were two outdoor areas that showcased... More
