I ended up going over to SoCo a few times and each time was a lot of fun and well worth it. Try the breakfast tacos and a iced coffee from Jo's, and do not leave without trying Torchy's chile con queso. There is a lot of art, fashion stores and quality souvenier options, aswell and the best people watching... More

Cool place to visit in the afternoon. There is a bunch of little local shops and restaurants to choose from. Weekend nights seem like they can be very social with bars and great places to grab a beer without the club or younger crazy generation .

The SoCo District was a really great place for food and shopping, but the road is always filled with traffic and it's impossible to find good parking. I wouldn't recommend to bring kids here.

The SoCo district was a cool place even on a hot day in July. Inside the old store fronts we discovered quaint boutiques run by friendly people. Angled parking you back into on the street can be a bit daunting, but it's easier than it looks. Just remember to use you blinker! We spent extra time in the Big Top... More

Really unique shops and resaurants in a relaxed hippy atmosphere. Browse Uncommon Objects, buy coyboy boats sweats from around the world, mexican day of the dead skulls and do many other specialist cool items. Then eat at HopDoddys or Amys Cream and generally enjoy the atmoshpere.

SoCo is the locals' name for South Congress. Fun shopping, good eats. Lots of interesting/kitschy boutiques and a variety of food trucks. If you are not a fan of the heat, it is best to go when it is not too hot outdoors.

This area is a fantastic place to wander around, eat, window shop, and enjoy what Austin represents. My family came here for lunch one day and dinner the next because there are so many good places to choose from.

I toured this area from a bus tour. It is a historical part of Austin local restaurants, shopping and food trucks. Many of the retail stores are a little pricey but a nice area and feels like your going back into the past.
