Very nostalgic, but heavy on the cover charge, especially when you bring a family. Great atmosphere, but would recommend eating elsewhere, just due to overall cost. Food was okay, not outstanding, but condiments were extremely good. My recommendation, go elsewhere for food, but come ready...More

It is a good spot for boot scootin. However, it has become run down, which is sad. The floors around the dance floor desperately need replacing. Their food has also gone down hill. I hope they decide to fix things... It is a part of...More

What a great place. A great band (The DeRailers), people dancing, cold beer and wonderful food. Try it all, you will not be disappointed.

This is an old honky tonk place that definitely can see its age. The ceiling is very low (like it touched the singer's head while he was playing). There was also a very bad smell of sewage. It is interesting to watch people of all...More

This is one place the live music of the capitol of the world got started. Not much has changed since the 50's about this place, and no one wants it to change. The music is always boot scootin.

Hard to believe it's still here. Back in the late sixties and early seventies I was a regular customer enjoying ice cold beer. Brings back many fond memories

Very authentic Austin Experience. We went with family and danced the two step (very poorly). It's rustic, no frills....just how you would want it to be. Great people, great fun. I would go again anytime and hope to soon!

I have been coming to the Spoke since 1967 and it has changed very little. Saw Tex Ritter here once in the past and have seen a lot of artists over the years. It is one of the last road houses left in the world....More

We paid for the dance lesson, but were disappointed - the teacher didn't give us enough time to practice in our opinion. Food was okay - we tried the famous chicken fried steak. We had gone to see a particular performer, and enjoyed that. Once...More
