Overview

Established in 1975 by the late Clifford Antone, Antone's is an iconic blues and R&B venue located in downtown Austin. Over the past 40 years, Antone's has brought Austin a variety of blues and R&B musicians from across the country including greats like B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, and Buddy Guy, as well as help develop local talent including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmie Vaughn, Bob Schneider, Gary Clark Jr. and countless others. In 2015, the historic brand was restored and a new team brought the iconic venue back to the downtown Austin landscape with a renewed focus on once again making Antone's the "Home of the Blues."

I stayed at the Westin over Memorial weekend. When I discovered that the hotel pool had been invaded by unpotty-trained-millennial hordes invading the rooftop pool bar, I decided to go enjoy some live music. The show was fun, busy but not crowded, the drinks were...More

Saw Jimmie Vaughan here. Basically rectangular setup with bar one side... had some tables and bar seating. The sound for Jimmie was just right... loud enough to feel it and dance to but still carry on conversation and no after show ear ringing. Jimmie is...More

We went on a Tuesday and there was a band playing with no cover. This is a fun little club to take in a show and they bring in excellent artists. I believe Stevie Ray Vaughn got his start here.

Well worth the visit, great atmosphere and crowd. Good souvenir shop next door, music was a link ray tribute.

I've heard about this place for a while. We're decided to stop in on a Monday night and it was a great choice. Great music and no cover tonight. Quality entertainment

We were in town on a Monday and stopped by Antone's which we have heard about since the 70's. There seems to have always been a connection between Antone's and many of the artists we have in South Louisiana. Anyway, we didn't expect much on...More

Great music and so small of a venue, it was a excellent to be a part of. Bar drinks are inexpensive (no food except potato chips I saw) but they did have a couple pizzas you could just grab a slice of and sit and...More

Huge disappointment! We visited Antone's on last Thursday night and walked there with great expectations of seeing a modern day Stevie Ray Vaughan or at least a good blues band. Wrong, hip hop and rap blaring foul and offensive language. It was embarrassing and awful....More

We are sorry for the disappointment. Unfortunately you happened to visit us during the annual South by South West conference. We are an official SXSW venue and therefore have outside groups and clients who host events and book music during this time. The night you...More

We strolled by after lunch and saw the merchandise from the window. I ended up getting a cool t-shirt and Aretha Franklin vinyl in excellent condition. Also I loved that they played a few songs on the album in the shop for me before the...More

Having been to some other more worn venues in the area, I was expecting much of the same here, but was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of Antone's. It didn't take away from the local charm though or quality of the show, which was awesome,...More

I've never been there where there is BYOB. The ticket cost is generally low and there is not much seating so standing room is normal. I don't think they can keep it open if they didn't have a bar. The bar is always open... More
