Best activity in Austin for all ages, electric bikes are the most efficient way to cover substantial ground, see the real neighborhoods of Austin and get a feel for life there, with minimal work. Our tour guide Donna Lou was friendly, upbeat, a local, extremely knowledgeable in the history of Austin, neighborhoods, great food options (she always gave us options to pick from to customize our own tour), we made 3 stops and got to ride on the Lady Bird lake hike/bike trail on the river and enjoy sunset views and see all the happenings on the waterfront. We wanted to do a bike/BBQ/bar tour, 5 of us ranging in ages from 39-60 and we made 3 stops with a ton of food, you will be more than full and happy, and you get to work off your food through the 4-4.5 hour tour. There were two types of electric bikes a peddle assist and some with a throttle on the handle bar, both were easy to maneuver, easy uphills, and one of the best tours you will experience. Make sure you bring a hat!!!! Sunscreen is a must although our guide provided some, and possibly a rain jacket/poncho in case it rains. Donna made sure that we got to do and see what we wanted, she kneels backroads, stopped at appropriate places to give us some background on neighborhoods, museums, history on people important to Austin. We went to a Mexican place with killer avocado martinis, food to die for, then Coopers for BBQ, loved the sausage there, then road down Rainey street, then to Amy’s Ice cream, an Austin favorite. If there’s anything you do in Austin, make sure to call Rocket Electrics and sign up for one of their private tours! They are worth every penny, very easy to work with, customize, and work with you and the group! This is my second experience with them, my first was 4 years ago, and they are still the best thing to do in Austin!
