Austin is a great city, and SoCo is a great place to visit! Lots of neat shops and a great place to walk. The only downfall is how difficult it was for me to find parking. There are lots of back in parking spaces, but most of the side streets are permit only.

by car or on foot you can enjoy this street from "bottom to top", you can buy clothes, craftworks and food, also you can listen to music or enjoy an ice cream from a food truck. The street comes alive since 10 am when everybody is looking for brunch (please visit Café No Sé you wont regret) and the people... More

We visited South Congress mid day, loved the boutique-y shops and one-of-a-kind merchandise. A great way to feel the Austin vibe!

South Congress Avenue beckons me from time-to-time, because I can always find (1) good food and (2) something funky to buy. The good food is at Enoteca/Vespaio - best Italian in Austin - and the funky things are in many of the little locally-owned shops you'll encounter. The vintage shops are most fun for me, and I can almost always... More

I spent 3 nights at the Austin Motel and took the time to walk up and down South Congress Avenue. Very quirky, as they say, with a wide variety of shops, restaurants and bars. Plenty of "odd" stores to go into to buy touristy stuff, but also some really great places to get one of a kind gifts and also... More

Fun, quirky stroll up and down this strip in Austin. There are tons of eateries on and along the side streets of this street. Tons of shopping, unique shops to see. Lots of entertainment and quite a few characters along the way here. I highly recommend south congress.

We walked up and down South Congress, found lots of fun little shops. Magnolia Cafe was fantastic as was the little gift shop next door. All shops were open and shopkeepers were welcoming.

Parking is hard to find but once you find one, its a great time! We shopped and really enjoyed ducking in and out of the air conditioned shops in the July heat!

On South Congress, parking involves backing your car into an empty space at an angle. Pay to park with plenty of time. Fans on buildings blowing out air with water spray. People were giving out free sweet tea from coolers. The store called Uncommon Objects, had just that. Interesting and affordable jewelry, cute little dolls, clothing, art from all over... More
