Just one of the MANY THINGS TO DO in ATX. Statue is on Towne Lake close to the Long Center grounds. (Bathrooms close) Walk over the Lamar Street pedestrian Bridge and then loop back over 1st Street for a walk around Town Lake/Lady Bird Lake.

A wonderful larger than life statue of my guitar hero. Check out the brass cast shadow, which cleverly depicts him playing.

The statue is located in a nice Riverfront Park. There are lots of hiking and biking trails and a dog park. Parking can be difficult to find though

Didn't expect to see the statue tucked in a walking park, we were not looking for it, and it took us by surprise. But there it is! Would have liked a bit more detail on the bio, but Stevie Ray was immediately recognizable. Grateful for...More

Austin's changed and burst and overflowed all around Stevie Ray Vaughan's statue for quite a few years now, but if anything, the statue's grown stature as Austin has searched for direction. It's fitting there's lots of both vegetation and scenic skyline around and behind him...More

Located right on Lady Bird Lake (Town Lake) are also the Radisson, Four Seasons, and Holiday Inn. Within a few blocks there are several others.
