It's in a nice River walk park just outside of downtown Austin. To have a statue erected for an artist is a real big deal. I've come from Vancouver Canada to see SRV and pay my respects. I saw him play twice here in Vancouver, so he came and visited me the least I could do was repay the favor.... More

About 1/4 mile off 1st Avenue Bridge, it's a nice tribute to a local "hero". I really like the bronze "shadow" behind the statue, I didn't even notice it was not a real shadow until my partner mentioned it.

Statue in beautiful location on Hike and Bike Trail. An added attraction to your walk or jog along the lake.

We LOVE SRV and didn't even know about this until we saw it on a city map. We're so glad we searched it out and stopped to enjoy the park; the river and the statue.

The statue is off the local hike and bike trail. Parking is very iffy, but the walk is not bad anyway. The view in front of the statue is nice, since a lot of people throw balls into the water for their dogs.

Stevie Ray Vaughan. SRV, just a great artist. So sad he is gone. But his albums and recordings are still available. Listening now to "Life without you" right now from Soul to Soul. Check out "Change it". if you have never listened. He played guitar on David Bowies "Lets Dance" if you think you have not heard him. "Scruttle Buttin'"... More

If you are a Stevie Ray Vaughan fan this is cool We are long time fans of him & his brother, Jimmy On our visit we were lucky that there was a special Exhibit of them at the Bullock Museum But, along the river you can walk & get exercise & enjoy the tranquility. And then you see the statue... More

Don't expect too much from this attraction. As other reviews have mentioned, it's just a statute. Go for the walk though, and take plenty of pictures. It's a beautiful spot and a great tribute to SRV and the blues music of Austin. It always amazes me when the river floors and the statue seems to be walking on water. I... More

It was a nice pilgrimage from an aspiring blues guitarist and SRV fan. But it is just a statue. Spent some minutes taking photos and that's it. The park is nice, however the river is a bit swampy. Might have been just the time of the year. The whether probably gets windy often. Just a guess.

Not a big fan of taxpayer funded art but this staue is pretty cool and iconic. I love the swirl of his cape--well executed.
