If you are a music fan, particularly of rock and roll and the blues, then it seems a stroll over to the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue is a must when in Austin. We enjoyed listening to the music of SRV on our drive into Austin from San Antonio which set the mood. After a morning at the state capitol, we strolled through downtown Austin, crossed the river, and found ourselves at the statue. A place for a few photographs and to remember this great guitarist.

Stevie Ray statue is a nice tribute to a true GREAT bluesman on the lake- he was definitely an Austin icon. The last time I saw him play was at Aquafest at Auditorium shores. The memorial has a lot of meaning to me.

Stevie Ray! I had to go and pay my respects. His music is his legacy and still sounds as fresh and meaningful as it did in the day. I climbed up on him and planted a kiss and told him I loved his everlasting sound.

Not much to say. It is a statue. It is of SRV. It is nice. Don't be in that area alone. Nice hike/bike trail. Pretty good restroom nearby.

A well deserved tribute to a great local musician. Austin can list it's garage bands and lay claim to the music capital of the world, but SRV was a true musician and Austin should be proud of his contribution to the local music scene. He played with the greats....he was one of the greats.

For Stevie Ray Vaughan music fans, this is a must. It's a little hard to find. It is located in Lady Bird Lake Hike-and-Bike trail in the middle. There is a small parking lot on the end. Take the walking path and you will find it in the middle.
