No better way to amuse the kids cheaply. Most normal adults love a short train ride too...as long as it isn't commuter rail to work. You catch it at the playground which is perfect.

My parents use to take me here as a child. The surrounding park is also just as great. The train ride never gets old.

Took my visiting 3-yr-old nephew and my adult sisters to ride the Zilker Zephyr miniature train on Monday, 9/28/15. The weather was beautiful, and we didn't mind waiting for the train, as it departs once an hour on the hour (at least on the weekdays). The price is $3.00/adult and $2.00 for kids, so it was a reasonable amount for... More

We went based on friend's recommendation and trip advisor reviews. The ride itself was fun, just the right speed, length for young kids. Couple of tips: know where you are going because the station was hard to find and the park often has closed roads; do not sit close the the front engine, the smoke is unbearable. Otherwise, check the... More

This hour train ride is just $2. It is so pretty with views of the water and other wild life. Highly recommend for families with children.

Very nice little ride and lets you relax and enjoy the Zilker Park and surroundings. Very cheap ride, just be sure you take the train early of a morning or later in the evening if it's hot out.

Enjoyed the train ride around the park. It lasts about 20 minutes and is very affordable. Go in the morning in summer to avoid the heat. It's best for the young kids.

A cute little train that winds through part of the park. It is located near a playground so it is easy to have a few hours of enjoyment in addition to the train ride. Tickets can go quickly so this is something more easily done with little ones on weekdays rather than weekends.

Great bang for your buck. Our whole family of seven rode the train and it was so much fun. The ride is a good twenty-five to thirty minutes long. You get a great view of the park, and at one point of downtown Austin and LadyBird Lake. There was a great busker at the midpoint of the ride and the... More
