We went to ride the train yesterday and was told it has been shut down "for a while". Might want to call before you go to see if it is open. Beautiful park and Barton Springs pool is a must see!

Cute ride in Zilker park. Mostly for kids, as the seats are tiny. Not a lot to see, but a good way to relax for a bit. A little pricey...cost about $20 for our family of 5. The kids liked it though.

If your kids like trains, go for it! We didn’t have to wait in long lines, but I am not sure about summer time. The train ride is not expensive at all (cash only). Do check whether before going because the train doesn’t have cover! I would go on a good weather day to enjoy to the fullest.…

Pleasant little ride through the park when the weather is good. Friendly driver, lovely scenery - a nice 10-minute diversion with a child.

One of the best kiddy train rides in the general vicinity. I’d say the one in SA at the park, and the one in Fort Worth near the zoo, are probably better. About a 20 minute ride. Some nice views if the fences aren’t up at Zilker Park. Reasonable price. I think there are coupons available on occasion at the website. …
