There's not much to see here, but the visitor center staff was super friendly and very helpful. There was also a large selection of Austin area attraction brochures as well as public restrooms. If you're visiting the capitol, start here.

Interesting museum on Texas history on the second floor. The people in the visitors center are both friendly and knowledgable. Lots of free brochures and information about Austin and the surrounding area Recommend a stop in their gift shop too, which has lots of great Austin and Texas souvenirs and gifts.

The Austin state Capitol is a beautiful, historic building in the centre of Austin. They offer free tours every hour or so, with really friendly and knowledgeable guides. The grounds are also worth exploring (if weather permits - it was too hot to spend much time out there for us!)

I quickly stopped by before going to the Capitol building. It's a free centre with interesting information and a few videos, I really enjoyed it.

While you are in Austin and visiting the Capitol, stop by the visitors center. You will learn some things that you might not otherwise learn. It is worth your time to stop.
