Very friendly staff, well worth a look

I quickly stopped by before going to the Capitol building. It's a free centre with interesting information and a few videos, I really enjoyed it.

While you are in Austin and visiting the Capitol, stop by the visitors center. You will learn some things that you might not otherwise learn. It is worth your time to stop.

This is a beautiful state capitol building that is well worth the visit. The free guided tours are really well done by folks who know what they're talking about. You can also choose to tour on your own, which is fun, but you will miss out on some of the great stories.

I love to walk in the Texas Capitol Building and on the grounds. The grounds are well taken care of and there are beautiful statues throughout the grounds. Inside the building, the floors feature beautiful work and the dome exhibit exquisite colors and beauty.

Personally, I enjoyed the visitors center more than the actual Capitol building. The center has some interactive exhibits and a great gift shop.

I was walking around the downtown area and was utterly amazed by the sheer size of the capitol. It seemed as large as the U.S. Capitol in DC. If you have the time, definitely take a tour.

Standing in the middle of the Rotunda and whispering is very cool! Check to see that the Leg is or is not in session to increase your access to certain areas. Good cafeteria downstairs.

Two great videos shown here - building the capital and funding it with the XIT ranch. None of us had ever heard of XIT. Great maps and other information.
