We were staying at the Kimpton and didn't even know what fuss was on the street over until we walked over there. It feels like bourbon street. Weird but exciting also. It's the first time it felt like things are getting back to pre covid. It is encouraging to see things livened up. Tons of food trucks and eateries in this cute area. They should black the streets off though for safety.

Rainey street is definitely a really cute spot. I was a little surprised at how small the street is. I was thinking we were getting blocks of restaurants and bars and it’s not like that. The places were more like little bungalows which were super cute and had great vibes to them. There was a cute little section with some vintage clothes and some food trucks but other than that it was a short time we spent there.

Rainey street in Austin is originally a residential neighbourhood with bungalow style houses built from 1884 onwards. In 2004 it was rezoned into the Central Business District to encourage redevelopment. Indeed many of the original houses have been converted into bars and restaurant, making it a popular nightlife area. For example the G'Raj Mahal serves pretty good Indian food outside accompanied with life music. Rainey street is pretty close to some large Austin hotels such as the Holiday Inn Town Lake.

Just a unique place in Austin with old houses converted into bars and restaurants. Every place is very unique in their building conversion, the drinks they offer and the music. This has only been around since 2005ish and if you have not been to Austin since then you should go and enjoy Rainey Street

Rainey Street is a great place to chill and drink. No crazy college kids and it’s more upscale. Lots of bars along the street and it’s a good time overall.

Rainey Street Historic District has some wonderful bars and restaurants inside historic homes. The experience is unique and very fun. Walk down the street to check out all the places! I loved hanging out in backyard bars. The area is growing quickly as more properties are flipped.

We went in the afternoon and most things were closed. We didn’t realize it was more of a supper/evening area.

Spent Friday night wondering up and down Rainey street. Definitely a cool place to bar hop, live music, micro breweries, and some awesome food trucks!

It was our first visit to Austin. We had heard all about how 6th street was where you wanted to be. West 6th, was cool, East 6th (no way) but our group enjoyed the vibe of Rainey the best. The historic re purposed homes were a blast to hand out in. Good vibe, good bars, food trucks everywhere; don't miss it

While going out with colleagues, some locals told us to check out Rainey street and we were not disappointed! It’s a little different feel from 6th street and we liked it. Taco trucks, bars and restaurants made out of old homes and some made out of shipping containers. Very cool and a little cleaner than 6th street. If you visit Austin, you should definitely check out Rainey street!
