Just what you need on TEXAS Summer days

Freezing refreshing waters to cool you down after a hike in 100+ degree weather. There is so much space to lay out and there are GREAT spots to picnic and relax.

I so wish we could come back here when it is open! But we really enjoyed our walk around Zilker park and our foray into the "Splash" center where they had lots of info (scientific, historical, narrative) related to the pool. I'm not sure why it was closed or when it will re-open, but if we are back in Austin,... More

Not sure why this is so highly rated. The place doesn't look anything special from a scenic perspective.

A really neat historic spot in fantastic Zilker Park. When we went there was no admission charged, so we walked down to the water and dipped our toes in the 68 degree water. It was interesting to read about the salamanders that live here and what they're doing to protect them while preserving the site's recreational use. I can imagine... More

This pool is 65 degrees year round. Its a natural spring fed pool inside Zilker Park. So clear you don't need goggles. Dive to bottom, see fish, rock formations. Plenty of depth for all ages. half a foot deep to 25 ft deep. Diving board, food, music. This is a liberal pool, so if someone sheds a top, don't be... More

It takes going with visitors to remind us of how lucky Austin is to have Barton Springs Pool. Family from NH & NC could not believe such a pool existed. They enjoyed the sculpture, history & connection with nature. Had it been warmer temps, they would have gone for a swim! But they were happy just to walk along the... More

It was soo relaxing and peaceful. Nice people walking their dogs, running, feeding swans Food trucks around the corner... More

It was a cool January day when we found this in the park. Super nice swimming place. Crystal clear water and so beautiful. There were people swimming when we were there. Also a nice small museum on the grounds.

This is a really great place where lots of people come to experience the great outdoors. Walking the trail is a must-do. It is generally flat and you can turn around anytime. It follows the river and is a real scenic treat.

The pool was closed, but you could see the springs. We walked below it and found a vendor renting Kayaks and canoe's.
