My wife and I booked a ride with Cowgirls and Cowboys in the West on Sunday, 6/5/2022. Brook and Kaycee did an excellent job pairing everyone with the right horse for each person's experience, and did an excellent job of taking care of everyone, making sure everyone had a good time and shared history of Palo Duro Canyon the history of the area and Indians that had inhabited the area in the wild west days. We had attended the Coors Cowboy Club Ranch Rodeo the night before and their team did a great job. Would recommend this great group of people and horse to any visitor to the Amarillo area. Thank you for a good time.

We recently visited Palo Duro Canyon and booked a horseback ride through Cowgirls and Cowboys in the West. We had an awesome experience. Brooke and Braydon led our group, and extra care was provided for my 78 year old mother that rode with us. The experience was everything that we were hoping it would be!

We had a couple of experienced riders with us, a couple of inexperienced riders, and two riders at 78 and 80 years old. Everyone had a great time.

Brooke and Braydon narrated with local history, and coached the group at some of the more challenging parts of the trail to where everyone felt comfortable.

I highly recommend them.

If you're looking for the best riding experience up in the Texas panhandle, this is the place to go. My friend and I were camping at Palo Duro Canyon State Park and had originally signed up for a morning ride, but when a storm came in the owner called us and moved us to the sunset ride free of charge, which actually worked better for us anyway. Cowboys and Cowgirls in the West offered a longer ride than the stables in the park for the same price , and you ride along the canyon rim so you get equally spectacular views. Our guides (Lauren, Madison, and Wyatt) were all friendly and knowledgeable, and taught us a lot of cool history about the cowboys and native american tribes that used to live in the area. I really enjoyed chatting with them as we rode, and they were also great about taking photos for us. They also encouraged us to spread out and take some side trails if we felt comfortable which, as a somewhat experienced rider, made the trip a lot more fun for me! Overall, I highly recommend this place if you're looking to ride around Palo Duro/Amarillo, and would absolutely come back!

We have gone on many trail rides and this by far was the best one! First of all Brayden, Danielle, and Lauren were all so sweet and took amazing care of us! I booked a one hour ride for myself, my husband, and our 4 and 5 year old daughters. It was supposed to be at 11:30am but due to record breaking heat while we were there, they called the night before to ask if we would be okay with moving to 9:30am to beat the heat and we were more than willing. Unlike other trail rides we have been on, they had our young children each ride on a child seat on the back of, I believe, Brayden and Lauren's horses. Which was actually kind of nice, to have your own horse for your ride. And they took exceptional care of my daughters during the ride, talking to them, pointing and showing them things along the trail. What I loved most about this ride was that they encourage you to go off the trail if you would like to. So many rides can turn out tobe a bit boring because the horses all fall in line and walk nose to tail, but with this ride you are able to steer horse off the path and take a look around as long as you still follow the group in the right direction and don't lose sight. Another thing I loved was the absolutely spectacular view of the canyon at the turnaround point of the trail. It was breathtaking very cool to listen to Brayden talk about some of the history there. Overall I was beyond satisfied with this trail ride and if we are ever in the area again I will probably try to book a sunset ride! Thanks for showing us a great time girls!

Our family made a 5000 mile round trip to the west, visiting national parks and drinking in the new and exciting sights. Our one splurge was at cowgirls and cowboys in Amarillo, Texas where our whole family of 9 was accommodated on beautiful horses for a trail ride around the canyon rim. Madison, Peyton and Braydon all did a great job and made us feel very comfortable—even the few of us who had never ridden before! My three year old rode behind one of the guides and loved it; my timid seven year old had no problem with the horse they chose for him, and the rest still talk about their horses wishing they could HAVE them somehow! Lol from 3 to 23 our kids were ALL happy and not many activities can span that big of an age group! Thnx for the wonderful adventure!

My wife and I went on the 2 hour sunset ride. We had the best time of our life. We hadn’t ridden in decades and the staff Faith and Kaycee were truly the absolute best we could have wished for. Their introduction to our horses and safety was great. They were attentive to everyone on the rides needs and skill levels from 3 year old children to me and I’m 61 years. We had a great informative talk along the trail about the canyon and it’s history and animals in the area. The animals and tack were
All well fitting and absolutely no issues on the ride. Faith and Kaycee were
Constantly showing everyone things about plants, animals, asking if everyone was
Comfortable. They constantly checked on everyone and asking questions to get to know all 7 riders. I can say these West Texas Cowgirls know their stuff and have the absolute best in mind for every person on their rides. At the end they offered snacks, drinks and even took photos for every person on the ride to remember their adventure forever. We did meet the owner just before departing and I would say she better do everything she can to keep these young ladies as the make this place the top Trip Advisor location in a large radius in the Texas Panhandle. The ride was easy and nobody had any equipment or skill issues and we were all friends by the end of the ride. There is nothing better in Amarillo than this adventure. Thanks again Faith and Kaycee. Y’all made this a great evening for me and my wife of 30 years.

Rodney, Thank you so much for your glowing review. I am very blessed to have so many wonderful guests, horses and wranglers grace my ranch for our horseback riding experience - and your testimony makes me so proud. I had hoped my business would make so many people happy, when I started it from a small vision 12 years ago. As a former hotel management executive, I have learned a few things about success in business, and one of the most important is having a great staff to help you achieve your goals:, and to make sure that the goals are not only communicated, but lived each and every day. For your review, the following is our mission statement. Mission Statement of the Team of Cowgirls and Cowboys in the West *We are a western heritage tourism business dedicated to provide our guests a friendly, safe, authentic and enjoyable Texas Ranch Experience *We are dedicated to provide our horses a healthy life of comfort and peace. We understand that our horses and our ranch are the cornerstone to our western experience. *We will work together with our incredible ranch team to provide a respectful, fun and courteous work environment. We will hire the best of the best, who love our western culture and have a true passion for it. We will help anyone who needs a helping hand. *We will treat the ranch as it was our own by keeping it clean, orderly and a place we are proud to show off to people from all over the world. Thank you so much for acknowledging that we have achieved our mission. Kaycee and Faith are truly wonderful ladies, who represent our ranch perfectly, and give our guests a wonderful western ranch experience. Thank you for acknowledging them. I hear people complain in the work world about employees with a poor work ethic, and who do not care. I am truly blessed, because our entire ranch team are wonderful young people with strong work ethics and a desire to do their best each and every day. They, our horses, our equipment and our ranch are the reason we are the #1 Amarillo Tourist attraction on Tripadvisor, and have been for the past 8 years. We look forward to your next visit, sir. Thank you, again. Phyllis

The only reason we spent two nights in Armarillo (on our way back home, 2,500 mile road trip) was so my 8yr daughter could go horseback riding. The experience did not disappoint. Brook and Madison did a great job picking horses for the person, giving color about Armarillo, and making small talk to make it a relaxing ride. We did a 2hr ride, starting at 9:30am and everything was efficient, smooth and fun! My 8 and 11yr old talked about the experience for hours and days afterwards. Highly recommended.

We booked an hour ride which is plenty for folks that have not ridden in awhile. Phylis the woman in charge doesn’t play with start times which I greatly appreciated. When you book the ride you’re emailed instructions, follow them to the letter and you will have no issues. A person from the other family on our ride was late per the instructions and was excluded from our ride. Danielle and Madison were our tour guides and both were a delight. These ladies are working hard to put themselves through college and were knowledgeable about the history of Palo Duro Canyon. They interacted with each guest, talked about the wildlife, and took pictures of each guest in this spectacular setting that will certainly be keepers for Instagram or the photo book. They even dismounted during the ride to catch a horny toad they spotted and showed this unique creature to each rider. This was our first activity for our vacation and got things off to a great start!

Absolutely the BEST horseback riding trail I’ve ever been on/ experienced. All of the horses were so well mannered and very well taken care of. The views were remarkable, we took an earlier ride and the sun rising was just gorgeous. And let’s not forget about the tour guides Madison & Faith, they were so informative and helpful and made you feel right at home (along with Dale the Dog)! I’ve been on many of trail rides and this was hands down the best I’ve ever ridden. I loved that we were able to ride side by side and on our own and not just in a line. I highly recommend Cowgirls & Cowboys in you’re in the West for an amazing view of the Palo Duro Canyon!

I originally was scheduled for a sunset ride because I was coming from Albuquerque and then due to Mother Nature heavy rain was in the forecast. Phylis called me and moved the ride to 12 and even though I was 20 minutes late due to traffic I was still able to get on a ride. The guides (Lauren, Madison, & Brayden) were all very nice and made the afternoon really enjoyable. If you want a fun way to spend a few hours in Amarillo then look no further than Cowgirls and Cowboys in the West! I’ve ridden horses in several different places around the United States and the experience here beats them all! You have the ability to not walk nose to take with each horse and instead just wander along the trail while staying close to the group. A very authentic, fun, and beautiful way to see the Wild West.
