Browsed here for two hours and walked out with a mosh mash of amazing rocks and vintage metal. So many cool things to look at and discover. Only open on Friday and Saturday. The brothers stayed they’re lazy. lol..this will be a must do next time I’m in Alpine.

My wife discovered this place. Now it has become a favorite for both of us. The business is in an old house that has so much character. Their inventory is top quality. My wife has found some nice jewelry items. We usually find something that we can't live without. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. They are great sources of information of Alpine and the area. You won't be disappointed here. Stop by.

The Cheshire Cat is an amazing place. It's full of treasures from all places and times. I think the best part about this store is the owners. They are so friendly and they know so much about the pieces they sell. Russ, one of the owners, spent a lot of time showing me jewelry and explaining the history behind each piece.
If you're in Alpine, you should really stop by Cheshire Cat and check it out! Even if you don't buy anything, the experience is priceless.

Love, love, love this store and spent enough money to prove it!!! Fabulous finds if you're willing to browse and take some time to stop and enjoy... I had tried twice before to get into this store on previous trips and had arrived after closing... 3rd time was a charm! Russ is super knowledgeable and friendly! Helped me make decisions on several pairs of spurs I was eyeing.... fun, fun store and I'll definitely be back!!!!

Lots to look at it in this antique store- filled with stuff (and rocks??) and people... the jeweler at the front desk could tone down the volume a little for the sanity of others in the store that like to shop in piece and quiet, but he was trying to make a sale I know. Found some good things here, definitely worth a visit!

It's my experience that this place is never open. Certainly not open while I was in Alpine in 2020 and 2021.

This is like going to a museum, only you can touch and buy whatever you want. The people who own this store really know their antiques. When I told them they got such good reviews on TripAdvisor, they didn't even know that, lol. They have a lot of nice things besides antiques (I loved the rocks for sale), and they seem to love what they do, so it's not a 'job' for them, but a passion.

It is always nice to visit a family run business. Cheshire Cat is just such a shop, with a tremendous variety of antiques and collectibles and people who know their inventory!

The Chesire Cat should be the first stop for anyone rolling through Alpine, Texas. The people running The Chesire Cat are arguably the friendliest, most helpful people in West Texas. Their store is full of wonderful items organized in a way that makes them easy and pleasurable to poke through (some antique stores can be overwhelming when random things are stuffed in every corner...not so this store). Upon entering, these lovely people provided first aid for my foot blistered from a hike up Hancock Hill, they hydrated my dog and gave a detailed rundown of all the best places to stay and eat in the Alpine/Marfa area (and they were not wrong). Plus I found all sorts of treasures at a reasonable price. If you want to experience West Texas hospitality, get the lay of the land, and find the perfect gift or treasure for your home, you will not be disappointed. Looking forward to the next time we can go back and visit with Russ et al.
