Discovery Center is a Creation Museum that has been serving the Abilene area for over 15 years. Prepare to experience the evidences of the true origin of the universe, earth and all life on earth through a biblical worldview. Attractions include our classic guided creation tour which includes a visit to Genesis Park and our live animals, a short 15 minute video on dragons in our Origins Theater, a 1/75th scale model of Noah's Ark, dinosaur and other fossils and our latest exhibit on Giants in our Lost World Museum. Visitors will also enjoy our premier tour, The Titanic, which is wand guided and features artifacts and memorabilia that show direct attachment to the Abilene area. Each exciting tour requires about an hour and a half of time.

Awesome place for the entire family. Allow enough time to do both tours if you are from out of town. Very friendly people.

This is a great place to go with your family. My grandkids want to come see what's new every time they come visit us. There is a Titanic tour available as well as the standard creation tour. I will note, however, that the posted opening hours are incorrect: they are open Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00.

I went to the Discovery Center curiously. I knew what I was about to run into. In the spirit of exploration, I Marco Polo'd my way on in. The couple who runs this place are welcoming and enthusiastic; obviously excited to share the observations they have so diligently collected through the years-- an honorable endeavor. I am impressed at their... More

Dear Bethie, Thank you for your input regarding your visit to the Discovery Center. We regret that you felt misled as to the purpose of this museum. We are unapologetically a Creation Museum and address topics in our museum that reflect a biblical worldview. Our staff researches and attempts to always be factual and accurate in our information. Me and my husband and 3 kids visited the Discovery Center and we were amazed at the vast amount of knowledge that Tommy and Carolyn Walden possess! They presented clear and concise facts about creationism and intelligent life! They are inspiring and uplifting as they go over historical facts and how they relate to biblical facts. It is clear they... More

This museum gives you something else to think about when you combine the Bible with science and Dinosaurs. This museum does an excellent job of combining the three And gives credit to the Bible and its historic fact. An awesome museum to answer many questions.

The Discovery Center is run by a wonderful husband and wife team (Tommy and Carolyn Walden) who were super gracious during our visit. The center is a museum that is set up to show the creative works of God. There are particular focuses on Noah's Ark and the flood, as well as a very interesting exhibit on the Titanic. Our... More
