My wife and I took our last ride of 2016 on the Blue Heron yesterday. We waited until well into the cruising season to go, but the weather was beautiful and we enjoyed everything about this cruise. There is no such thing as an un-enjoyable cruise to book on the Blue Heron, any day or any cruise is going to... More

Took this trip on a sunny fall Sunday afternoon at the last minute. Not many boaters out on the river so it was a smooth ride at 5-10mph. Even though the trees had not changed color, it was nice to see lots of turtles basking in the sun and several blue herons. The cruise is 2.5 miles down the Cumberland... More

Captain Jim offers a unique experience on the river. The Nature Cruise is very relaxing and you get to see many Blue Herons, we even saw a Bald Eagle! It was a cool grey day and we had a few rain drops but this just added to the fun. The boat offers protection from the rain without losing the feeling... More

I booked this wonderful little cruise for my birthday and invited my whole family. Capt. Jim Steele is the best Captain ever. We had adults, pretend and toddlers as he had activities and music to suit everyone. Unfortunately this has been a rainy summer and we had to turn around about halfway through. What we did get to do was... More

Captain Jim is like a wonderful, laid back grandpa! We had a boat full of moms and young kids and we had such a fabulous time! They provided snacks and juice boxes, bubbles, bouncy balls, etc. We road the boat for 45 mintues to a little beached area and played in the water for over 2 hours. They also had... More

Our group of six, three generations, enjoyed a fabulous river cruise yesterday at 10 a.m. Though it was the end of July, the temperature was pleasant. The two men working the cruise were the owner/master pilot and his good friend (also a boat owner). The men were knowledgeable and pleasant, good natured guides. The wildlife didn't cooperate, but the cruise... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the morning cruise on the Blue Heron on a hot day in July! Even though the weather was a predicted scorcher, everyone was comfortable on the cruise and thoroughly entertained! For a reasonably priced, relaxing cruise on the Cumberland River, we will certainly recommend this for your group or guests. We had a wide range of ages,... More
