Great Gator Hunt Very Professional. Took time to discuss and go over the equipment and explained the process so you knew what to expect before going out on the water. Explained that he would try and get you the size of gator you wanted. You have to understand you are going out into nature and you may end up getting something smaller or bigger than what you want. The lodge was great, roomy, open and the bedroom had its own bathroom. I loved all the animals that decorated the lodge, exactly what you would expect a place like that to look like. The accommodations were very nice and clean. Took pictures after the hunt and the next morning. They had specific photos they normally took and then asked if there were any specific photos that I wanted them to take. They also took the game to the processor for you if you wanted. They were even willing to pick up the meat later on and if a family member was traveling near where I lived would meet me near where they were going. I thought that was great, I said No but probably should have since it’s a 3+ hour drive for me to get the meat 😊. They were extremely nice and open, great hunt and more importantly it was a successful hunt. I would recommend them and if family or friends go in the future, I plan on paying to tag along.

Everything was perfect for our first hog hunt - while we were there. Jim and his team were knowledgeable, friendly and the attention to detail was outstanding. His wife was a great cook as well. There was really nothing more my wife and I could ask for. In fact, I excitedly emailed Jim just two days after we returned home to tell him of our enthusiasm and the desire to schedule another hunt in the near future. BUT, once we left, it was out of sight out of mind… Jim promised he would ship the meat from one of my hogs (the other I donated to a fellow hunter and staff), at my expense of course, after it came back from the processor. Three weeks have gone by and it still hasn’t shipped. And he confirmed via email it was ready at least a week ago. I get it, he’s super busy with high paying alligator hunters, etc. (I don’t know when he sleeps frankly) and my request is going above-and-beyond the norm. I asked him to do so because my wife and I were spending a few extra days in Charleston (I wanted to do something for her) and I didn’t know what to do with the meat before we flew back to NY. Still, at least in my profession, when I say I’m going to do something - I do it. I expect the same from any business I frequent. Why lose a return customer? It’s not like a hunting lodge is a cheap excursion ($2k+ if you count tips for guides, etc.) Despite my plans to enjoy the fresh pork with family and friends I proudly told about the hunt, at this point I have pretty much written it off as a loss. The bottom line is this - it was a wonderful experience which I originally had hoped to do again, but I’m not happy about being unable to enjoy the harvest from my hunt. So I think four stars is fair - five for the hunt and zero for the promised follow-up.

I hope someone takes the time to read this, I often take for granite the great times I have at Red Bluff Lodge and forget to do this. I am from MD and have been hunting with Jim and his family at Red Bluff for about 17 years. My father and I tried the Lodge out and have returned multiple times every year still to this day. My father passed unexspectanlty in 2018. He and I had the absolute best times of our lives togther with Jim and these times were not just about the hunting. My best friend, who had never hunted in his life, and a large contingent of the family joined in and have been hunting at the lodge for around 12 years now. I have 3 children all girls, and one of which is 19 and now in college, has hunted with me at the the Lodge since she was about 7 years old. Home from school, we returned in December and my wife and 12 year old daughter accompanied us. My 12 year old did not hunt and hung out with my wife while we hunted and has asked to come back multiple times already. Jim treated her like one of his own while we were there and it was one of the best trips I have ever had. This was my fourth time there in 2020. Trust me when I tell you, this man is special, the Lodge is special and his family is like family to me. Do yourself a favor and give them a try.

We did some research to book a wild hog hunt. We interviewed a number of outfits' and after conversing with Jim Boone the owner decide to book a two day night hunt with Red Bluff. The lodge and accommodations were as advertised. The equipment was top notch as was the instrucrions. The food was good plain comfort food just what you want when hunting. Having an on site range was very useful feature . Between us we have over 100 years of hunting experience and we still learned a few things. It is really a family run establishment and we felt welcome at all times. . We shot one hog, missed one hog and passed on another. Jim will put you on animals.

Had the absolute best experience with Mr. Jim Boone at Red Bluff. The lodging accommodations were excellent and Jim gave me pointers on how to better hold my rifle and other slight adjustments. I had a great deer hunt, shooting 3, and these were my first ever! The whole experience for first time hunters and seasoned hunters is excellent! Really looking forward to going back to Red Bluff Lodge for years to come! His slogan is true...come as a customer...leave as a friend!
