A great way to spend a few hours and learn about the area history. Housed in an original Winter Colony residence, which in itself is astonishing for it's sheer size and grandeur! (Admission is free)

When we have out of town guests we make it a point to visit the museum. It is diverse and interesting. The gift shop is cute and nicely stocked. We enjoy Aiken history and the old time every day living items.

If you like history you won't want to miss the Aiken County Historical Museum. I never knew that the south won the battle of Aiken during the Civil War.

A small town museum with big town aspirations! All local exhibits that really make you understand the unusual history of AIken county from it’s inception to today. You can spend an hour to a full day and still be enthralled.

Just moved to Aiken and went on a Sunday. Docents were very friendly and helpful. Very beautiful winter colony home with interesting exhibits. Lot to see. Allow several hours or come back. We plan to.

Thanks for visiting us! If you think the circus exhibit is scary now, you should have seen it when the life-size clown was on display... :)
