Hopeland Gardens is a frequent destination for my family. It is the perfect place for an afternoon walk any time of year. My granddaughter loves to take bread to feed the fish and turtles, and the walkways through the gardens are almost magical, allowing her to run freely and experience the natural surroundings.

Hopeland Gardens is located near the center of the town of Aiken, SC. Lovely trails, lots of shade filled with many trees and plants. A great place to have a wedding or just go for a picnic. There is some history as this used to be a private residence. Free to the public, a must see!

Whilst we were in Aiken it was extremely hot, we spent a very pleasant afternoon here sitting in a shaded area enjoying the garden, the lake and the birds. A lovely oasis off a busy road.

Went to the gardens for something to do. It was breath taking to say the least. Not only are the views great but it was also educational for the kids. They were about to read about the trees and plants within the garden. There are little information pieces telling you about the trees all around. There are turtles and fish... More

Garden that was originally part of the estate of an Aiken Winter Colonist. There are ponds as well as walking paths.

We had a bit of extra time while in Aiken...and found this beautiful (and large) garden oasis. Very "old South" in it's feel. Great for a slow walk...hand in hand. And...it's FREE!

A beautiful peaceful spot in the center of town for a delightful walk, meditate in beautiful labyrinth, or just sit on a bench and enjoy

Wandering around Hopelands is fantastic, and I highly recommend for anyone, kids, adults, seniors, all will find something to like. I was very impressed with the Thoroughbred Museum; also the several horse statues in the gardens. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the gigantic, very old trees. Walking about their waterways, spotting turtles, ducks, etc. And of course, the Rose Garden was... More
