It’s free (including parking). The walking paths are easy to maneuver and the garden is well labeled. Make sure to visit the horse museum which is outside and interesting even if you’re not a horse person. The pond is full of sunbathing turtles! A lovely place for a stroll. Highly recommend.

This beautiful garden is nice year-round. Christmas is my favorite time to visit. Springtime is even better, though, since most of the trees and flowers are in bloom. This is a no-miss place to visit if you come to Aiken or live here, like me. You will come back, again, for the escape from the stresses and messes life sometimes hands us. It even helps escape pandemics.

We made our way to Hopeland Gardens on a sunny afternoon. While it was a little warm -- there were plenty of great shady places to sit and take a break. In addition to beautiful gardens and water features, Hopelands is steeped in history both about those who established Aiken as a Winter Colony and horse enclave for the wealthy families of the late 19th and turn of the 20th century. Worth the time to explore.

We brought our kids here over 30 years ago and have been coming here ever since. They have acres of paths to walk around on, a duck pond and the Doll House you can visit (when it's open). This use to be the private home of a prominent family in Aiken, now open for all to enjoy. They do have events here (plays and performances) and they have a Christmas Light display every year. It's so peaceful and tranquil here (despite being so close to heavy traffic).

There are wonderful shaded walking trails frequented by couples and families with children. The Deodora Cedar trees are beautiful. Lovely rose gardens. There is a Doll House museum.

It is a beautiful park with at least 4 reflecting pools. Had nice paths, beautiful mature trees and places to sit. There was also a Doll House which was closed and a stage for performance art.

Lots to see with all the nature, trees, flowers and history of horses. The best place to go in Aiken on a cool day.

It's nice to get away from hot sun to shadow and walk around. Don't need much of energy to walk around nice paths, pounds and things to explore. Kids have fun with Labyrinth path.

We attended the Gardens on 12/10. Although the weather was chilly to say the least, the whole experience was delightful. The light displays occur on the weekend for those of you who are not familiar with the procedure. Shuttles are provided from Citizens Park. Handicap parking is available on Dupree St. right by the garden. Donations are accepted but not required to view the displays unlike some displays on the coast of South Carolina. I feel that this display is very good or better than the displays that I have seen elsewhere. It is definitely worth visiting!! The city of Aiken does an excellent job.
