The store was actually larger than I expected based on how small other reviews have suggested it is. However, the prices are too high. The broken Clark bars are the same price as regular Clark bars but require the purchase of more.

I looked at the bag of broken Clark bars and thought it looked like it was about 4 bars. It makes little sense. They sell regular Clark bars for $1.25 (with a limit of 3, which I thought was silly). The regular Clark bars are 2oz. The bag of broken Clark bars is $4.99 for 8oz. So, 8oz of regular Clark bars (4 bars) is 1¢ more than the broken ones. So what is the point then?

They had some Mallo Cups in bags that looked like trash. It was opened and damaged Mallow Cup packaged in a clear bag with Mallo cups mixed in. I believe those bags were $12. I do not know how many cups were actually in there, but it did not seem like a deal to me. They also sell overpriced merchandise.

Needless to say, I didn't really buy much. One thing we bought was chocolate covered cinnamon honey graham pretzels. Those were exceptional.

Very small shop with good prices. Cannot tour the factory but there is a small video running that shows what happens behind the making of the candy. If you're in the area, worth the small amount of time that you will spend here. Clark bars were some of my favorites.

I ran into this on my way to another location. Never had a Mallow Cup before, but knew about them so made a quick stop! It’s a VERY small outlet store! However, there are lots of interesting flavors! Would be nice fo tour the factory, but I am sure because of COVID, there are no tours. Free parking across the street! Would not suggest foe wheelchairs and whatnot. Like I said...the store is SMALL!

I LOVE Mallow cups so of course had to make this a stop during our visit to the area. Small shop with good prices on candy. Would be nice if they did some type of factory tours. Outside of purchasing some candy and other souvenirs there is not much else here.

Boyer's started I believe back in the 1930's. Has different candy like the Mallo Cups and Smoothies that have been around for a long time and I love them both. Even had a friend who moved to CA and I used to send her a box of these and Snyder's potato chips to her every once in a while because they couldn't be bought out there. They also have a lot of other items there and have different packages for Easter, Christmas, Etc.. The outlet store on 17th Street Altoona, PA has a lot of boxes of candy that you can choose from. And, you can find a lot of their candy in different local stores.

This is a neat combination of a candy outlet and a museum. This a great place to take visiting guests. I would visit this place regularly if I wasn't diabetic. I nice display shows a historic factory visit made by the Three Stooges and Pittsburgh TV personality Paul Shannon.

There is no factory tour but we went because we were curious about the locally made mallow cups. Everyone here agrees the Butterscotch ones are the best and we now look for them when we cross the border.

The woman in the store was friendly and helped out with descriptions of each item and was very helpful. She also provided a free sample.

I took a visitor from New Hampshire to the outlet. He was interested in buying the peanut butter pretzels. Much to my chagrin, they had none. Their excuse was they were too busy at Easter even though it was two days later. They used to have a box of broken pieces as samples but no longer offer any sample unless you ask for it and then it is a mallow cup. Instead my visitor bought nut bark but it was packaged in a plastic bag which was unattractive. Prices were a bit high for an outlet. Would I take another visitor to the outlet? I think not.

It is not worth the trip, prices are out of range..many to chose from but mostly bulk..used to have broken pieces selection to try before buying..no more! So if you buy and don't like your stuck with it....Don't waste your time unless you know what you want and at a large quantity...

The Boyer Candy Factory Outlet was our first stop in Altoona and was it amazing!
So much chocolate! We enjoyed the bit of history along with the Mallo Cup sample.
We left with a bag full of chocolate... Milk Chocolate Mallo Cups, Dark Chocolate Mallo Cups, Butterscotch Smoothies, chocolate covered graham crackers and Jimmie Stix's. While it's not a large showroom, it is definitely a sweet one!
