- PelleasPhiladelphiaPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania1,115 contributionsPleasant with long linesI found the park (besides the lines) much more pleasant than a lot of reviewers. It’s a great diverse crowd from all walks of life, all having a good time. The park is a manageable size for a single day. Good grouping of kids rides all together. Fun water park. Ok the lines were tough to be sure - 45 mins for a water slide but that’s parks nowadays. What they do need to fix is there is not enough food options and slow service so it can be 30+ mins for a slice of pizza.Visited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten September 11, 2023
- NanitaReading, Pennsylvania1 contributionDorney Is Amazing!!This Themepark is so fun!! The hours pass by fast and you have a blast!! The rides are so fun!! I enjoy going to Dorney Park. If you want somewhere fun to go with your family, this is the place to go!! The passes have great deals! You just have to look into which specific one you want. This place has rides for all ages! You can come here and seek so much thrill. The rides are the best part. However, you might want to watch out for the line skippers. Dorney Park seems to have trouble with keeping some people in check. Nevertheless, this place has all kinds of foods and beverages to keep your energy up. My school had a field trip here June 13th, 2023 and there were other schools on field trips there as well. The lines were pretty long. You might want to watch out for the busy days because that's when it takes longer to go on the rides because the lines get long. The employees when I was there seemed to be nice and chill too!Visited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten May 6, 2024
- Veronica H1 contributionYoung child disappointmentIf you have a young child who can’t talk for rides and starts to cry I won’t recommend Dorney. I was very disappointment. The ride operator will take them off because they are crying and can’t say they are okay. My son has major anxiety separation and when in line he was excited to get on the helicopters. Once I put him on the helicopter he cried because I was leaving him and couldn’t ride with him. He was taken off because he wouldn’t stop crying and couldn’t say he was okay.Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 10, 2024
- Paula B56 contributionsVery experienceVery fun! There are about 10 rides for adults. We went on a very hot day (100 degrees) and we were able to walk on to every ride. I'm not sure how it is on days that aren't as hot. They had a ton of signs and maps along the park to navigate through the park. Plenty of bathrooms and restaurants. All the restaurants we saw were outside. If you wanted some quick AC we went into gift shops. The water park was very busy we did not go there. You have to go through security when going in.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 22, 2024

- AmusementparkguyPataskala, Ohio1,472 contributionsA Good Park, though Not My Best VisitsDorney is one of my favorite medium-sized parks, and I usually get to visit it once a year when I travel with my friend from Philadelphia. This year, like Hersheypark, I got to visit Dorney twice, on two different days, with two different friends on different trips. The employees here are generally friendly and efficient. There is an excellent selection of coasters and flat rides for patrons to enjoy. The water park is included with admission. Food is mediocre. The park grounds were clean. The only drawback is that the park shut down operations on one of my visits here for about three hours. I know that management must close rides when severe weather moves in. It threatened to storm around noon on one of those days, but by 12:45, the sun had returned. No clouds were in the sky, yet management chose to keep the rides closed until after 3:00. Not necessary when there are not storms in the area. A supervisor said because the forecast predicted a threat of bad weather, the rides had to remain closed. As long as there are no clouds nor lightning in the area, it is safe to run the rides.Visited July 2024Traveled with friendsWritten July 31, 2024
- aircargooNewark, New Jersey75 contributionsBasic info…..basically three sixty five for 4Okay…was there on 10th after storm passed…..was okay getting in. 1st booth in FRONT to get bands guy doesn’t have only plastic cups. Supervisor came fixed….i said something after waiting in line. DO NOT sit right front wave pool 1st row….kinda sucs, traffic. I did it for hr,left to better area….crab place good to eat frt of wave pool…corn, shrimp, broccoli….there’s chicken everywhere so,and fries. Anyway…band works but that’s cause it was not fully crowded I think…..don’t go to eat soon you get in cause there not open till noon….so get place, good place to sit THEN eat or go rides…restaurants ,most, open noon…there will be one open in front BUT go get your area to relax 1st…..unless u can split up to get seats. Parking I can’t say cause I used handicap in frt but expensive like Disney and universal..AND sesame place..$35. I bought basic entry and upgraded to drink and food on 4 entries….better off up grading not buying combined with food cause DRINKS not included……anyway peps…was okay…sun was out and was NOT crowded like a reg Saturday…..cause storm Debby had cleared night before……..again…1) get your area 1st,nothing really open till noon to eat…..2) get upgrade on basic entry cause it includes drinks…$365 I think we paid for 4 entries 4 upgrades with parking I think…….almost positive that was amount I charged….cause I did hotels as well…… enjoy all….🙏Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 13, 2024
- Christina GNew York City, New York1 contributionLost ChildSo we got separated from another family member and a few kids and also from my 18 year old. We went to security and received the same answer, not protocols in place or any announcement can be made for anyone that's lost, regardless of the age. In this day and age how is that possible? And since an earlier complaint from 2009, nothing has changed. Very disappointed in this place.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 26, 2024
- Natalie S1 contributionNice timeThe park is very nice but it seemed under staffed and extremely packed. One of the lazy rivers was closed. I had to purchase very expensive fast past tickets so my family don't spend the whole day waiting on a very long line to get on rides. They should allow less people per day and have more staff. Other than that we had a great time.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 29, 2024

We purchased admission, parking and drink combo tickets and arrived at 11:00. It was afternoon before we found someone who could tell us how to redeem the drink ticket for a wristband. We stood in line at four places only to be told they ran out of wristbands and it was hot! We had long since finished the one bottle of water we were each allowed to enter with. The rides are very strung out with a lot of walking between them and they were very slow to start the ride after we were loaded. We experienced two arguments among other riders and during one of them we were not allowed off the ride while the people continued to argue. We tried to get on the Scrambler and waited while the operator checked all the seats and we asked if we could board then and were told no. He was on the phone and then started the ride without letting us on. There were only three people on the ride when he ran it. I feel the park is poorly laid out and the employees acted like they didn't want to be there . I was ready to leave very early but the other 8 people with me gave it their best shot at trying to enjoy the day because of the high price of admission. Dorney Park isn't the magical place it used to be and is very overrated and certainly not worth the money because of the slow ride turnover.

Dorney Park charges admission, which is understandable, but then charges $10 for parking and also a $6.50 processing fee.
Who else is going to park in their lot? Why not just include this in the ticket price so that it is one number?
This is really shady. It is not quite unethical, but it is definitely sleazy.
When I go to the supermarket, I do not have to pay more for parking. The cost of their lot is factored into the grocery prices.
Then when I check out at the grocery store, I do not need to pay an additional "processing" fee. It is factored into the grocery store prices.

We took our children there to celebrate the end of school. We even bought season passes so that we could make a few evening visits over the summer. We drove an hour and a half to get there only to discover that they decided to close early. I attempted to speak with guest services, whose response was sorry, there is nothing we can do. When asked why, at first they said it was due to weather (it was overcast but the sun was coming out and I was wearing sunglasses). When I questioned that by pointing out the obvious lack of inclement weather I was told it was because there was not enough people in the park.
In addition to seeing my children broken hearted, I was also mad because of the time and money I spent for no reason. I attempted calling customer service with the hopes of better answers. And again was told, sorry there's nothing we can do. Then, I was put on hold until the representative came back and basically said I was wrong there was bad weather. In a perfect world, some type of compensation would have been appreciated but I would have been content with at least an honest apology.
With absolutely no reassurance of this not continually happening, I requested a refund of my passes. I was told no refunds, there is nothing we can do and good bye.
I can't speak for experiences in the park but the arbitrary closing and apathetic customer service guarantees we will not be continuing with this park.

I purchased an e-photo and I am unable to retrieve the picture online as stated on the receipt. I've called and emailed since 8/1/2020 and no one has been able to help me. It was my daughter's birthday and I purchased the picture for memories. Customer Service is not good at all. I reqret paying cash because had I used my visa I would let my bank handle my refund. Will not return to Dorney Park.

I had one of the worst experiences at Dorney park. First of all, the bee problem was absurd. As someone who is severely allergic to bees, this was a big issue. The employees were also very miserable and rude. One even called me “stupid”. I also asked an employee to loosen my safety belt as it was practically cutting my stomach, and they obviously heard me and ignored me. They also let WAY to many people in the park, which made me wonder what their max capacity was. 1 small bottle of water was ridiculously overpriced.($7) The waterpark was so packed and the wave pool was closed, making the other wave pool filled with people, making it dangerous. I don’t usually make things a big deal, but this ruined my trip from the very start.

How do you run out of food, soda and Ice? It's ridiculous!! Most of the People working there are ignorant. Restrooms are gross. When to get changed in the bathhouse and there were dirty feminine napkins in there. Can you say GROSS!!!!!!
If you are extra fluffy don't bother going because you won't be able to do anything but watch everyone else have fun. Oh yeah, when we could get refills for our refillable cups that we paid $15.99 each for 6 of them mind you...the soda was flat. Straight up disgusting. We won't be back.

I recently visited an amusement park with my family, and, unfortunately, our experience was less than satisfactory. We paid a very high price of $600 for our admission, parking, and locker fees for 4 people. To our dismay, the park shut down all of their rides due to a 50% chance of rain. Despite waiting for over an hour, the rides never opened, and we eventually decided to leave. Unfortunately, the park was unwilling to offer any kind of refund or solution to our problem. This kind of behavior is indicative of a company that prioritizes making money over ensuring their guests have a good time. For these reasons, I would caution anyone considering a visit to this amusement park.

As a native Pittsburgher I spent my childhood going to another family amusement park and worked there during the summers while in college. But alas I married a Scranton boy and we visited Dorney with our 7 and 9 year old daughters on our way to visit his family. We visited on a Thursday in July, shortly before the Grand Carnivale dates started. I think that helped keep the lines short. We did not go in to the water park at all and instead focused on the coasters. Everything was running when we went and they were all great. My 7 year old was not quite tall enough for Talon or Hydra but enjoyed hanging out in Planet Snoopy while Daddy and big sis went on those. We were also able to take advantage of the weekday bundle which included parking and an all day drink wristband. Those came in really handy. I felt like the food choices were pretty limited and pricey. The quality was just OK. Improving the food choices would be my only suggestion. The park was clean and staff was nice. We highly enjoyed our trip there and would not hesitate to go back when we're in the area again.

Omg... this place is a little gem.. the rides are awesome.. rides for the whole family thrill rides, family rides, kiddy rides they have a water park but the park was closed. Every ride we went in was so much fun.... we bought 3 tickets for $35 and 1 ticket for $45 because parking is $10 so we upgraded the $35 ticket to the $45 and got parking and one meal.. we will go back after the COVID-19 is over....

You must order on-line waterpark reservations. I thought this was due to a lifeguard shortage which closed some of the WWK attractions and the park wanted to limit the number of guests in the waterpark. However, no DP employees were checking to make sure each guest entering WWK had a reservation. They let everybody in the park. As a result the park was EXTREMELY overcrowded. Lines moved extremely slowly. For many of the long lines you had to stand in full sun with your feet burning on the pavement or stairs. One wave pool and one lazy river was closed down so the open wave pool was extremely crowded. I never felt like I cooled off in the heat since too much of the time in the waterpark was spent standing in line. I never want to visit here again. I was hoping to find relief from the heat by cooling off at WWK but all I got was standing in long lines with a bunch of other miserable people.

You should be ok on tbe more modern attractions.
You're definitely ok Thunder Creek Mountain- only open Memorial day weekend through Labor Day.
Thunderhawk, Zephyr, and Whip opened when my grandparents were children. Very tight spaces on those rides. The more modern rides such as Talon and Hydra have seats outside the line where you can measure yourself- these rides have a pull down bar that goes over your shoulder.
I've been going to this place since Jimmy Carter was POTUS. It looks completely different now of course- I've always had a blast here and I'm sure you will too. I do recommend eating outside before entering the park. Yankee Stadium prices for food no better than the McDonald's across the street on Hamilton Blvd.
The website should have more info about any restrictions in regards to the rides. Keep in mind water rides are Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day only.
Enjoy!

Does anyone know if the weekday bundle is 54.99 for one day or two days? And if its for one than why do they call it a bundle? Just curious because i wasnt really sure how it works.
