The members of our group had all been to Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob several times before, but we did not realize that there was another Wright house less than an hour away, much less one that you could rent for the weekend. If the cost looks steep, keep in mind that the house sleeps 4 to 6 people, and it... More

This past weekend we were staying in the Laurel Highlands and took a trip to see the Duncan House by Frank Lloyd Wright. We were very leased to learn that at the Polymath Park Resort there are 2 other houses to tour that were designed by a pupil of FLW. We were even more excited to learn that you can... More

This is a review of the Polymath Park destination, in which the Duncan House is located. This is a very nice, tucked away, secluded and quiet destination for enthusiasts of architecture, art and nature. The site includes one Frank Lloyd Wright Duncan House, the Blum House and the Balter House; the latter two are by FLW apprentices, and are beautiful... More

I was expecting to see the Duncan House, and was thrilled to find out that we were going on a tour of three houses. Polymath Park has been set up to display the Duncan house as well as Balter House and Blum house designed by Wright apprentice Peter Berndtson. There is a shuttle bus that drives you between the sites.... More

First saw the Duncan House on its original site in Illinois. It looks a lot better now. We got very lost trying to find Polymath Park. I think more, especially larger, signage is needed. Since we were running a few minutes late we were allowed to drive ourselves to the house and follow the shuttle from there. We did miss... More

Thank you for your review. I am glad that you found us! We are so close to opening the gift shop, you will have to come back and visit to see the new addition to Polymath Park in the Fall/Winter of 2017. More

We stayed at the Blum house for one night 10/23. The house screamed throw a party! The layout was perfect for entertaining. We built a fire and enjoyed the house and all its wonderful windows and screens. It was fun to stay in a piece of history. It was lovely to see the day break through the massive windows too!... My wife and I took a trip to see Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob and ended the day at Polymath with their evening tour and dinner. First I would like to say the houses are not on the scale of the other two houses BUT they are very good examples of the Usonian design and similar houses. More importantly they represent... More

We spent two nights in the Balter House and one in the Duncan. Would recommend not staying at all in the Duncan as the Peter Berndtson designed Balter house is just superb. You have full use of everything including what appears to be an original dishwasher The fireplace is a must to light even if it isn't cold. You wake... More

Our intention was to tour Falling Waters but the entire day of tours was sold out (order your tickets early if you plan to visit on a weekend) so we opted for the Polymath Park and lunch tour. It was interesting to see the homes and the tour guide was knowledgeable, but the houses themselves need some tender loving care... More

Thank you for your review. Character, authenticity and preservation is what Polymath Park is about. I am glad you enjoyed your lunch at Tree Tops. I am sorry, that what we consider a preservation project and a chance of a lifetime to save a Frank Lloyd Wright home and rebuild it on the same property as a original apprentice, Peter... More

We visited Polymath Park for a tour while we were in the area to see Falling Water & Kentuck Knob. We were fortunate to have Heather, one of the owners, taking the tour. She was very knowlegeable about the houses & it was fascinating to hear the story of how she & her husband came to be running this park.... More
