Fantastic

A great place to just sit and read or do research or find a book. Maybe even read it in the shade of one of the trees outside!

a small easy to locate local library with helpful staff and a few cozy chairs where you can peruse the books and periodicals. Even a "free" section where you can leave and/or take books or magazines

Many authors live in Ashland which may have helped the librarians amass such a wide and complete collection of books. The library is very pleasant inside for a tourist to sit in and do research or to read for pleasure. Parking although limited does exist behind the building. If the play you saw is over and you aren't ready for... More

For visitors, the Ashland Library is an 1918 "Carnegie" library, with a modern extension. It has all the stuff one would expect in a library whether you're 60+ or 6. Books, DVD's, internet, lots of different newspapers, kid's section, etc. Staff is helpful. Easy to get a card and check out stuff. Atmosphere is comfortable to read and relax. Frequent... More

I haven't been to the library for years: I mean, who needs to read from a whole book when you can read a snippet of what you need over the web. But, wait, what if you want a reference book: from Chilton's automotive to a travel guide. The Librarian couldn't have been more helpful: I renewed my Library Card, checked... More

Wonderful library: great librarians, good selection, easy to reserve on-line. And... it is open on Sundays!

This has been a frequent place my daughter and I visit since moving to Ashland. We are voracious readers and check out many books. The staff know us by name and are very helpful and kind. We had our library close down due to budget cuts a few years back and that really was a sad day. Young children staged... More

The Ashland Library is one of the original Carnegie Libraries with a substantial modern addition. I participated in a meeting in one of their downstairs meeting rooms. Very functional and worked out well.

We went to the library because my husband had been there once as a teenager returning from a ski trip. He was freezing and the library was open so he went in and found a warm fireplace. So, this visit he wanted to see whether he recalled it correctly; the old library is now solely a children's library with a... More

My wife and I appreciate the staff and services of the Ashland Library. There is a wide selection if books and periodicals. Electronic books are also available. There is also a wonderful children's section. Checking out books is easy and fast. The only downside is that we wish the library should be open more often.
